[TOPIC] 2 [Stats] N=60 | Source=../data/original/reviews.tab (1) This was the first temple we visited in Bali. It was really cool to see the temple and capture it in photos with the backdrop of the sea. Lots of people were there but unfortunately can't go in or too close to it. Can get your photo taken and printed out on the spot. My husband preferred other temples better and didn't think it was worth all the hype. (2) Its a nice temple - its on the coast . But i felt its a bit overrated - its not out of the world as some of the reviews would have you believe (3) The place located beside a lake, highlighted its beauty with great Balinese architecture that merge with the lake. Worth a visit 👍 (4) This temple really was quite spectacular. It really does make you appreciate how Bali must have been centuries before when religion was the priority. The lake is a beautiful part of the mountain and creates an amazing setting for the floating temple. My wife and I visited this site as part of a day tour in Bali and it was worth the trip up the mountain. The temple was very busy with tourists, however it still manages to be a peaceful site. The site paints a detailed picture of religion in Bali with the majority being Hindu but also showing elements of the Buddhist population in Bali. The ride back down the mountain was also wonderful getting to see loads of rice paddies and experience everyday life for people living in the more mountainous regions (5) This place is like a park but not worth visiting to see this place only. We were in Amed beach and on the way back visited this place and took 15 to 20 minutes to cover whole place. Otherwise no need to plan to go this place only . If some one is planning snorkelling in Amed beach then on the way back visit this place and also can combine Baisakhi temple. (6) Bit of a tourist rip off. The temple is okay, but too commercial and not as impressive as a lot of other temples in Bali. If you are short on time you might as well skip this place... (7) 1. Great art on water.\n2. Clean place.\n3. Great view.\n4. For muslims friends- a mosque is just a walking distance for you to pray. (8) We were disappointed to know that entry to the Temple is forbidden for tourists/outsiders. \nBut the view of the coast and the temple is mesmeric and totally worth it, specially at sunset.\nThe place completely shuts down by 7pm and after sunset (by 6:30pm) it gets very dark and you can't see anything so I suggest you reach there by 4pm to enjoy the place till sunset. (9) Great setting on the coastline of Bali. The best time to see this place is at Low tide when you can walk to the lower part of the temple. The stands and food stall are a tad overprice, but fun to visit. (10) Too hot to visit in the mid afternoon so best time to go will be late afternoon to evening just before sunset where you get the cool ocean breeze and amazing sunset view with the temple as background. A favorite hot spot for tourist thou so do expect it to be empty. Overall a nice place to spend the afternoon to chill out waiting for sunset! (11) Yes, its crowded, but I feel this was worth the stop. We were able to cross the water, knee high to the little cave-like alcove. Yes, made a donation and received a blessing. It really was a nice experience. The temple is high on the rock, and you can't go in, but the pictures at sunset are amazing. We walked the market area and had a bite (Sunset Corner) as the sun went down. (12) One of the directional temples on the coastline of Bali. Try take the opportunity of being blessed by the Priest at the cave at the base of the temple. Special experience. Also a Burmese Python about 3 mt long that u can have photo taken holding it. (13) This is culture and beauty! Must go when the tide is out so you can walk down for a blessing and leave an offering. It's definitely worth a visit. It's busy but so much area. It is truly magnificent to experience the Balinese culture and hear the history. (14) Nice way to see the temple is actually going up to the end of the restaurants and go the last restaurant. Because you will get a much better angle. Drinks and food there is almost the same. Don't go to the first restaurant, it is doubled the price with not much to see, as the plants block the temples on the top of the rock. (15) Too crowded because so famous temple. There were people praying. So peaceful and pleasant to hear. The bad side need to pay to go to the toilet. (16) One of the most beautiful Temples in Bali.\nHeard a lot about it. Saw hundreds of photos and then it's there on 50000note. Was really looking forward to seeing this place.\nSculptures of animals are really out of character for this place wish the could have decorated with something more traditional.\nTips to fellow travellers: \nIt's far from traditional touristy areas of South bali/Ubud. So prepare yourself for a long and winding road.\nTry to visit late in the day around 5ish to avoid the crowds. (17) This temple is a place that anyone must to visit. beautiful naturally shaped rock on the beach amazed everyone's eyes. Verry much recommended for photographers. (18) Clean and fresh air with a beautiful place and a beautiful lake makes this temple has its famous name, luckily we came when the lake was low tide so we could go down and walk around near the lake. (19) Absolute must at sunset, an amazing moving place to view for serenity and photographic opportunities. Best to arrive around 4:30pm, grab a coffe and take it all in. As the sun goes down it turns into an amazing spectacle, you can drop down onto the coast line and walk viewing the exposed corals, polyps and invertebrates. Normal tradition to enter into the temples, sarong, scarf and head dress but even viewing from the various points it's really amazing. (20) What a beautiful place. Loved the garden and the temple and the scenery. It was cloudy and almost raining, and really green in that area so all the colors popped out and made for a really beautiful visit. It's not close to Ubud but we stopped here en route to Java. So we didn't have to worry about \is the drive worth it\" because we were passing by anyways. Beautiful place." (21) Amazing locales and scenery, drive upto the place is convenient and the place itself is a bliss. Though only disappointing thing is, like other Bali temples, the main shrine is always closed. You cannot enter the main shrine. Otherwise, great place (22) On pictures it looks way bigger but it’s still nice to see the temple on the lake. Take a walk around and take some pictures. (23) Beautiful sunset but the temple area was like a market, so crowded...we didn't enjoy it particularly. (24) Very nice temple.. hard to get sunny shot as always cloudy there, we managed to have dry weather for most of the day.. prepare for lots, lots of tourists.. (25) its a lovely thing to see, but you should know that its only from outside, its not allowed to get in beside if its the rainy season you will stay away 50 miters minimum cause it will be surrounded with water... its not only the temple over there ... its a big area and there is another small temple and they do a fire show as well.... best thing is the Ocean view from there ... makes you speechless :) (26) Entrance fee is fair. Serene lake view with hills in the background of the temple. There is also beautiful gardens around the temple to chill with family. Lots of tourists, but u will still be able to get some perfect angle for photos. There was a prayer procession when i was there, definitely a bonus to be able to witness the interesting Hindu ceremony. (27) Yep, its a temple on the rocks. That one photo youve seen around is really awesome. But thats pretty much it. Disclaimer i didn’t visit over sunset which seems to be a pretty popular time to go there. \nAlso, private cars (GoJek, Grab, Uber) arn’t allowed to pick you up from there so make sure you know how you’re getting back. (28) I scouted the place and pick 1 spot up on the cliff that we can overlook the temple and horizon and waited for the sunset. There are relatively cheap places to have drinks while doing so. No need to break your wallets. (29) The temple itself you couldn't really go in but you could see it from the outside. Good view. The show at the end of the temple was really fun though. (30) This temple is situated by the Beratan Lake & its dedicated to the Lake Goddess . \nSince this Lake's water is primarily used for irrigation in Bali and is responsible for the fertility of this place , this temple is known for its fertility - this infor was given by our tour guide. \nIt was raining when we went here and we could see that the temple was flooded and so we couldnt enter . But we could walk to the sides and enjoy the magical view from here . Its simply out of the world. Must visit & no sarong was compulsary when we went. Not sure if that was because of the temple being flooded and cannot enter. Surprisingly the entrance fee is very nominal for such a beautiful place. (31) This is a special place . I t feels as though it has been lost in time ... well after you fight your way through the hawker stalls on the way to the temple. If it is a hot day its worth taking an umbrella otherwise you may rush from one shady spot to another. \nThe views are spectacular of the rugard coastline and the way that the sea has created amazing shapes on the coastline. If you are lucky enough to be there at low tide take the opportunity to walk out to the temple . (32) Impressive temple by the lake in a beautiful garden setting. A lovely photo opportunity; what you see of the temple in pictures is pretty much what you get. Very busy with tourists, though we were there at midday so shouldn't be surprised by that. The location lacks interpretive signage. Worth a long drive? We'll leave that up to you to decide! (33) One of the most important temples in Bali to visit. Maybe the most beautiful, too. Just make sure that you have enough time to enjoy it. Do not worry about the sea snakes and visiting the temple itself - non-Balinese are not allowed to enter anyway \nJust a magic place that you (unfortunately have to) share with so many people (34) Its a nice temple but you should know that its not allowed to go inside , unlike some other temples. There is a souvernir market at the entrance, a big one. Its a nice temple to visit (35) One morning during our visit to Bali we went to this temple which is very nice and has so many adventures plus shopping areas for clothes and souvenirs. Must visit temple for all tourists (36) Long way to travel in south west Bali, especially if you are going from Nusa Dua/Kuta ,but well worth ! Open space and the temple has to be viewed from far.Sunset is a big thing here and it is good.Plenty of ancient hindu monuments .Gayatri mantra is recited every evening at 6 pm.Huge number of tourists roaming around.Outside, there is an organised market with ATM etc as well as a restaurant (37) Temples on Bali are as the matter of fact similiar. But this is little diffrent. Especially because of beautiful place - on the lake surrounded by mountain. It is good to see this place. But you have to worry about lot of tourist.\nThere are also nice park around with strange sculptures (usally animals).\n\nWorth to see (38) We got here at 5:30am to watch sunrise and it was worth it! It is a holy month of prayer, a big event that happens every 10 years and which is open to about 4 million Hindus, therefore it was beautiful to see lots of smartly dressed, happy people arrive early for prayer and soaking in the happy athmosphere. The priest blessed us with holy water when we got up, which we thought was lovely and made us feel very welcome. It was amazing to see the sun slowly illuminating Mt. Angung.\n\nIf you just want the Instagram photo at the gate and arrive in the afternoon with other thousands of tourists, you will be disappointed in your experience! If you make an effort and get here early, you can get your shots and enjoy your surroundings and experience :) (39) A temple by the sea, it's a one of 3 MUST-SEE place in Bali. My family sat on the grass to view sunset, very peaceful. You cannot enter inside but its outside view is beautiful enough (40) We decided to leave out hotel early and and head to this enchanted temple for the sunrise and we were glad that we did. When you think of the places surrounded by hills and a lake to be with it . It will surely make people wonder if you are in bali or not . This place is couple of degrees cooler than the beaches and yes the coffee in the shanties served are quite different . There is no Charge or entry fee however the donation is acceptable for its upkeep . (41) This is one of the best places to visit if you are in Bali. view from here is breathtaking and sunset from here is not to miss. It takes some time to roam about the whole temple, which you should, so plan accordingly. (42) Sacred Curiosity is what drew me to this temple. I wondered was it as amazing as I thought? It was breathtakingly beautiful even with the other sunset seekers. (43) Interesting Hindu temple on a rock just off-shore only accessible at low tide. Unfortunately when we went the tide was in. Went some years ago when I was here on my own and could walk out to the temple - don't know if the snakes are still there (you are supposed to touch them for good luck - yours or theirs I'm not sure). Great place for sunsets and a touristy market before you walk down to the temple area. (44) The temple site is pretty crowded so I took a fastboat for 125k and it feels more exciting with all the breeze, beautiful mountain and vast lakes (45) It is a good sight seeing attrection of Bali. As it is almost the last attrection of Bali tour so it is very crowded in the evening as most of the tourist want to see it at sun set time which is the best time to see it, the temple is located on the small cliff type hill with so many view points for the sun set in the sea, it is located in the south west side of Bali. So many monkey also there.\n.\nVinod Tandon\nDelhi (46) Crowded, and a bit far to get too these temples are very beautiful and worth the trip. Photos don't do it justice. Hire a car, see a temple hundreds of years old and enjoy the waves crashing on rocks. Touristy to say the least but worth it. An hour or so there should do it with lunch looking out over the cliffs. (47) We went during high tide so we weren't able to cross over to the temple, but the high tide made for big waves that made awe-inspiring crashes against the cliffs. (48) But like really go in properly and check out the the 3 temples so you get the immersive feel of the place. And the local guide will help you appreciate the historical and cultural significance behind it as well! (49) Beautiful temple with lovely surround and gardens but lots of tourists and fairly long lines for cafes/drinks. Worth a look and some great photo opportunities but busy. (50) Quite difficult to get to this temple if you are staying in Nusa Dua, Jimbaran or Denpasar however it is worth putting up with the traffic to arrive at this absolutely magnificent temple! (51) Temple on an excellent location, on the top of a cliff.\nBeautiful walks on both sides of the temple. (52) A beautiful ancient structure with a scenic backdrop.\nThe park in the temple complex is beautiful.\nIs on the same\nRoute as the WANAGIRI HILLS.\nHas a boating club. Please check timings. (53) Quite popular among both foreign and domestic tourists and since the temple is still in use you need to mind and respect local communities as they visit the temple. This is the scenic temple you see on Indonesian bank notes! The location on the lake is quite spectacular. It gets busy in the afternoon so I suggest you plan your visit before lunchtime as you can walk around in relative peace.\n\nWe were in luck as our driver for the day was local and visits this temple himself. He explained the setup, layout and some principles about the ceremony. That was very educational and definitely added to the experience. The complex, as you walk around it, doesn't require you to wear a sarong but please be respectful and wear longer clothes or bring a shawl or sarong to cover knees and shoulders. (54) This is the picture postcard temple of Bali. Despite huge amount of visitors, it is lovely to see, and the sea provides a dramatic setting. The shopping area one has to pass through to access the temple is quite good, the produce being far superior to any of the markets I visited. This is the temple that appears in the guide books, calendars etc, so don't miss if you're not too far away, as the temple, the setting and the backdrop are lovely. It was a boiling hot day, but with the sea breeze it was tolerable. There are countless cold drink vendors anyway to quench your thirst. (55) Lovely views, there was a bit of cloud in the sky which made the Temple and Lake Bratan look even more beautiful. (56) I have no idea why this is on most Bali \to see lists\". I found the temple majorly underwhelming with monkeys literally trying to steal all your belongings. It is overflowing with tourists just making it even more unpleasant. Bali have far more untouched beauties that are less crowded." (57) This temple (resp. more temples) on the cliff offers above all stunning views. We were there during high tide therefore the waves vere huge and completed wonderful view. Unfortunatelly little bit overcrowded and too many souveniers sellers for me. (58) Very beautiful view . Though you cannot enter temple but still a must visit place when you are in Bali . Very clean and beautiful place . Scenery is awesome. (59) I most definitely wouldn’t travel from out of the area to see this site. It’s really hyped up online and i guess it’s a matter of opinion but I was not that fascinating. The grounds are well maintained and tidy but have weird gimmicky tacky statues of cartoon characters animals and fruit around, which baffled me. A small kids play ground and some shabby swan pedal boats available to rent too. The temple was so much smaller than expected and i wouldn’t say it’s worth the hours drive some people do to see it. Costs 50k to get in which is a bit steep for such a short experience. Annoying they charge for toilet access when you’ve already paid to get in but it’s only 5k-same as anywhere else (60) Like many of the lake temples, this is many tiered, which is very Balinese and beautiful. We walked a part of the way around the lake to get some wonderful photos of the temple. You can go out in boats if you wish .The scenery was magnificent
