It is better to visit sooner, before 3pm I would recommend. Take a walk near the clifs about 500m from the temple, many nice things to see on the beach there. (2) We were lucky we got their with the low tides as we can walk up to the temple. Great scenic views all around. There is an entrance fees to visit and is very crowded with tourists. There is a nearby hawker stalls/shops to cool off. (3) Place is really nice coz the temple is placed on high cliff. Panoramic view is stunning, but hundreds of sunset expecting people is distroying everything. They are everywhere. Sunset is also uncertain. But it doesnt change the thing the place is very nice. (4) Great place to visit if you want to do a small activity for the day with your kids.\nGo there in the morning as from 11h00 onwards the place gets quite crowded.\nDon't take a local guide at the entrance, it's a waste of money (100.000 Rp). He does not tell you anything interesting at all.\nThe main temple it self can't be visited.\nThe view to the various cliffs is great! (5) First of all, this temple does not require you to wear a sarong. That is the reason why I think it's mainly a garden. The little pounds and fountains are beautiful. Especially the stone route through one of the pounds is very beautiful to walk by. All in all it doesn't take too long to see everything. It is worth a visit, but not an overwhelming experience. (6) You cannot enter the temple, but the location is preety picturesque. The entrance ticket is not expensive and you can borrow sarongs for free. (7) Absolutely brilliant temple built on so many levels and borders the cliff overlooking the sea.\n\nPicturesq and serene. Definitely head over here if you have a couple of hours to spare.\n\nBe sure to get here a few hours before 7pm as once the time is up, the staff make sure everyone leaves the temple promply. (8) A beautiful and unique temple surrounded by the sea with beautiful waves, has many places best to capture beautiful moments (9) Just beautiful! The temple, the view, the stone work, the snake in the entrance, the market (with fixed prices at least the one that we visited), all was worth it. Recommended 100% (10) This area is a very popular tourist attraction in Bali as well as for locals to worship. We hired a driver to get there but there appears to be many bus tours that include this location. The views of the temple with the ocean back drop are spectacular. There is an admission fee of 60,000 Rp. There are also markets on site as well as food vendors. (11) We went there for the sunset. It can get quite crowded at that time but the view is amazing at sunset. Rather than staying at the cliff we went to the rock near the Temple. What a view! We had an amazing experience and got awesome pictures! (12) Nature is beautiful - that I cannot dispute. However the fact that we can only view the temple structure from afar is a little disappointing. Plus the fact the beach was overrun by hordes of tourists made this area less ideal for any romantic notions. \n\nWe spent less than 5 mins taking a few obligatory pictures and off we go. (13) This is a temple complex in a beautiful location, on Lake Beratan, surrounded by mountains-spectacular and charming. Great for photo ops. We were there in the dry season so the temples were on the land, but in the wet season they appear almost as an island. We went in the afternoon and there were lots of people there, but not as many as Tanah lot. You can arrange boat trips around the lake. Admission was IDR 30,000 per person, there is a mid-range restaurant on the site, toilets, and some drink vendors and shopping just outside near the parking. This is a must visit. (14) Back to nature woow it really beautiful place I see. Interested temple and surrounding. Lov it so much (15) This is one of the most beautiful temple in Bali. Though one has to travel a lot to reach this temple if you are staying in South Bali, it is still worth the trip. The place on a higher altitude has pleasant weather compared to coastal southern bali. If you are lucky, you might witness a Balinese Hindu ceremony which takes places very often here. The place is very beautiful place with mountain backdrop with the lake view. A must visit temple in Bali. (16) This temple is located on the coast of Tabanan, right on the beach! You might be surprised to see some snake charmers here and there near the temple but like me if you are from India it wont surprise you one bit. The place is too crowded and entry to the temple is generally prohibited to public. You can stroll around the temple and there some local shopping you can do right next to the beach. (17) Breath taking views! The temple is very beautiful with an amazing view. Only drawback is was filled with tourists every corners. (18) This most photographed temple is relatively small and nondescript.\nIt’s location at the edge of the lake with a backdrop of misty mountains makes it very unique.\nLocated in the highlands the weather is cool ,there are myriad flowers in all possible colours in the garden area.\nThe entry tickets are expensive, sarong is not needed.\nThere is ample parking.\nThe garden has curiously shaped benches in the form of reptiles.\nThere is a cafe on the premises. (19) This temple nestled within the beach offers a scenic view for avid photographers. The place also offers cheap shopping and handicraft. (20) This temple is really beautiful but extremely touristic. Before you even get to the temple you have to go through a whole village of stands and shops selling touristic stuff. If you want to avoid the worst touristhordes go before noon. It´s fun to wade out to the temple at low tide. Well worth a visit. (21) Went to one of the main tourist attractions and a sacred temple in bali. Definitely a must if you go to bali and love their heritage and respect their culture. Don't forget to take tonnes of pics as there were quite a few people who went nuts. A place to remember for many years to come. Thank you Bali for the wonderful experience! (22) I'm not much of a sunset person but I give this one credit. It's very dramatic! You're on a cliff watching the sunset with hundreds of people. Temple was also interesting with the white stone.\nDownside was the traffic going and coming back... but since on vacation- what's the rush? (23) A beautiful place. But if you want to see the temple surrounded by water like pictured in the postcards you have to come in the morning before 1pm! Or for the sunrise.\n\nAfter 2pm the outflow starts so the water is gone and you will see hundreds of tourists around it. (24) We spent a couple of hours here and stayed to enjoy the sunset view. There were plenty of tourists, but I never felt smothered. We did not stop at the holy snake caves, but did walk the grounds and took many family pictures with beautiful backgrounds. We felt the best place to watch the setting sun was on the nicely maintained terraced grass before walking down the steps. I really loved seeing all the sparrows, at least I think they were, fly in front of the smaller temple just north of the main one just as the sun sank into the ocean! (25) We were there at evening.. beautiful atmosphere.. baby's can play at the huge greenery lash ... We didn't access the temple just saw it far away ..because its slippery .. if you are not accompany any senior or child then you can go ahead.. can enjoy the sunset from there (26) We went during high tide so we couldn’t go to the temple but just as we were about to leave the ride went out so we could get closer to the temple (albeit it still not been able to get to it. This place is stunning, the peacefulness of the surroundings met with the crashing waves. You have beautiful sights of the waves crashing onto the rocks and it’s stunning.\nWould definitely recommend this place !! \n\nBe warned at the entrance there is a very very large snake held by a man. I didn’t notice this and I stood with the snake behind me to have a massive shock about 10 seconds later. (27) This was very beautiful temple site and was very fascinating. But there were just so many inconsiderate people with no spatial awareness. Definitely worth a trip, but would go early or late or face people walking in front of your photos or being hit with selfie sticks!!! (28) A beautiful sunset and ocean views with some beautiful temples, although it gets a bit crowded with tourists as everyone wants to see it, I would still recommend this it's a beautiful spot (29) The temple looks amazing, especially if you visit it early in the morning as you can see the beautiful sunset view from here. (30) It's my personal second time to this iconic temple of Bali (first time was for sunrise photography) but first with the family. It's a beautiful icon, no doubt, good for photoshoot (amidst the tourist crowds), and the temple outer court is ok to walk around, but there's not much else. Nonetheless, for first timers to this part of Bali, it shouldn't be missed, and it's even better to take another half hour further up the road to the lookout point over the twin volcanic lakes, Danau Buyan and Danau Tamblingan.\n\nIf you happen (or plan) to be there when there's a major ceremony going on and you're interested in culture, that could well be a totally different (and more satisfying) experience. (31) Truely beautifull! Try and get there when the tide is low and you can walk into the temple on the ocean bed. (32) For me this was one of the most beautiful temples i visited in Bali. Set on a lake surrounded by mountains and greenery it was very serene and certainly worth the trip from Ubud. (33) We had visited this place in the last week of Aug-2018. The main attraction of the temple is a great view of the sea from top of the cliff during sunset. (34) Entrance is 30k IDR for adults and 15k IDR for kiddos. \n\nWent here early morning after our lempuyang temple, a gloomy day and got a bit of rain. But that wont stop us to enjoy and wander around this little place thats relaxing and pleasing to the eyes.My son loves the garden as he loves to play with the big Kois around the water garden.\nIts not that crowded that time.\nIt would be better to take nice photos if the weather is great but thats ok .we enjoyed the place. They said that its a former royal palace in eastern bali. One of the tourist destinations and i love all the statues based on the historical Maha Bharata or Ramayana.Such a wonderful place to visit. (35) This is the best temple we visited in bali. Climate is so chilling and location is marvelous. Very nice place for photo shoots. Must go for couples and families (36) I can only imagine how nice this place would be at sunset! We found this place a little boring and not that interesting. It was nice and all but nothing spectacular. It would have been good to get an information book about the place or have some sort of signage explaining the temple. (37) We reach the Temple late in the evening, it has a splendid view of the Indian Ocean waves hitting the rocks. Nice place to visit and do some shopping. (38) One of the best places to see in Bali. The temple is situated in water and the walk from the entry point till the temple is worth it. Ensure to carry extra dress cause chances of getting wet are good. There is a stone laid path under water on which one needs to walk and one needs to be careful as he or she may get hurt if not watchful. There are some local guides who are there to help you . The temple is very peaceful and picturesque. There are places where tourists can sit and enjoy drinks ( coconut water ) at the same time having a pleasant view of the sea . There are a lot of shops from which clothes and other artifacts bought at bargainable prices . A good place that ought not be missed . (39) Another day tour took us here, we tried to see a lot of the temples in Bali and this one did not disappoint. It has beautiful gardens, ones over water that you can walk across, the grounds are so well maintained . It is something that you would make the drive for if you are into nice and peaceful surroundings and getting into the local spirit of religion and appreciating what they have built- its outstanding. (40) We went in the morning because we know it gets crowded and hot. We were able to make the trek across the water and get to the temple which was a cool little adventure. But, you can't really go up and look at the temple. It gets crowded, so go early. We walked up the hill and explored the little shops and restaurants. We got coconuts and enjoyed a nice view for a while before heading back. (41) Beautiful during flood and tide! We managed to take pictures climbing on the rocks on the other side of the temple! (42) Beautiful scenery including the cliffs against the ruggedly blue ocean. To get to the temple itself requires getting knee deep in water which we didn't do. Despite the great views while we were there, there were so many people that it detracted from the overall experience. Try and go during non-peak times (like early in the morning) to avoid the crowds. (43) We had visited the temple over 30 years ago and it had held an aura about it. This trip was different a few locals selling bracelets had been replaced by rows of shops leading up to the temple itself and bus loads of tourist. Still a beautiful place well worth a visit (44) Me and my partner visited the temple in the afternoon and although it was very beautiful there were just too many people, we were like cattle being herded around. \n\nThe lake and temple itself was stunning, mysterious and misty. There was a lot to see and various areas to sit and eat a packed lunch or just enjoy the outdoors.\n\nI also didn't like that there was animal cruelty present in the form of bats and birds tied down awaiting a picture with a tourist. You could tell they were very distressed so stay clear.\n\nI suggest bringing a scarf or light jumper as temperatures are colder in this part of Bali. Also no food is sold here, so make sure you grab something before or after. (45) Beautiful temple, can take great pictures. Very ancient place. A little more history can be put on some boards to read. Not everyone needs a tour guide and we were exploring. Friendly people around. No currency exchange around the area and there needs to be one as it’s considered a major tourist spot. 5 dollar entry free, a small amount charged for parking and toilet usage. A better start if your early (46) We traveled here from Tuban and it did take over an hour and half to get there, but it was worth that wait. Part of this temple complex is on the cliff and some on an small island. It is a large area stretching along the cliff face extending inland. The temple area is vast, but you need to time your visit early to avoid the crowds and align with low tide to get easily to the island temple without getting too wet. There is a large commercial area with shops and cafes. (47) Being far from the city, this temple is still worth the drive. We visited during the Melasti ceremony and it was just so serene watching locals perform the ceremony by the lake. (48) The arrival to the area is immediately into a hive of tourist shops for trinkets, souvenirs and clothing... anything and everything. Once you've passed through all of these, we did buy a very nice painting following a small bit of bartering to reduce the price, you enter the temple area.\n\nAs the price per person is fairly high comparing to other temples, I would suggest spending a good couple of hours at least here. This will allow you ample time to walk around the vast area, soak up sun on the grass or walk along the black sandy beach - not forgetting the temple itself. \n\nWhen getting to the temple, accessible only during low tide and even then when wading in shallow water, you have to be blessed before being able to walk up a few steps. As with most temples, you cannot go into the ceremonial grounds but it does afford good pictures. \n\nAll in all, have a good camera and enjoy. It's worth it. (49) Beatiful, exotic with sunset view.. memorable trip. Beach and the old temple is great place to visit. (50) Temple on a rock on a beach side. Good for insta pics. A nice place to relax in evening but people in temple are in for\nDonations so be cautious (51) A great Place for sun set and for folk dances also, here you can take enjoyment of Bali culture dance in evening, great place for sun set, we like very much this place, can not understand why they are charging for entrances in temple, for dances it's ok but here you have to pay two times i.e for dances and to enter in temple also, after taking money from tourist places are not see neat and clean, there is no drinking water facilities nor any other facilities, (52) Superb place. Well maintained surroundings and the temple on the lake is just superb. What a view ! This is the place most featured on brochures on Bali. Not to miss for sure. Budget for quite some time here. You would not want to leave this place quickly. (53) The temple is probably the most amazing temple in Bali. Two towers stand on the platforms, so it looks like they float on the lake which is spectacular. \nThe place is clean, no beggars, not many noisy salesmen and women. \nTake a jacket or something, just in case it's gonna rain. (54) Pay 60k rupiah per person. You can’t get up close unless it’s low tide. We watched the sunset from the shore line cliffs. Plenty of places to stand or sit. Hard to get Tanah Lot in the background though so settled for watching the waves - very relaxing. \nPlenty of little shops and cafes on the short walk from car park and a few on the cliff top too.\nYou can get tourist taxis from there back into town, but you won’t be able to get an Uber so I’d suggest asking your driver to wait for a while, which they’ll happily do for a 20k or so.\nOverall would recommend but you don’t see a lot of the temple. (55) After a 5-hour bike ride from Kuta Beach, reaching the temple and seeing its peaceful beauty made the trip worthy. It looked like a small village with all the traditions, heritage and religion very well kept and observed. Next to it was a lawn garden by the lake. Its serenity made me want to sleep on the grass under the bamboo tree found near the small pond connected to the lake. It was sunny, breezy, foggy and quiet. It was just perfect for meditation or to just enjoy the God-given natural wonder of the lake and the temple's positive vibe. (56) Beautiful view! explore all around the temple, relax with the sound of the waves, and if you want amazing pics try to go before sunset! the only negative thing it's that you are not allowed inside the temple.\n This is a very touristic place so expect many people but I still think is worth going to experience the temple and the great view. (57) Wonderful scenery, little bit of rain kept everything cool. We couldn’t visit the temple due to high dangerous water. So many people. (58) Lovely grounds. Beautiful iconic temple. They have a small animal exhibit where you can have a picture with your favorite critters (for a small fee of course) (59) it's over crowded with tourists :( make the temple not as quite as it should be. but it's worth for a quick visit to see the beauty of nature. (60) We went when the tide was out and it was still very busy. A truly magic place. There is a golf course attached. Walk up to the little village and have a cold drink overlooking the temple, truly amazing views. This is a great place for photos.\nThere is a charge for entry but worth the money
