Anywhere you look from, it's gorgeous. About 20 mins before sunset, go grab a table at one of the terraces that aaaaall the way back - those have the best view. Grab a coconut water, lay back, and enjoy the calm. (3) if you dont like the crowd - go to another mountain. if you are able to look threw the crowd - is beautiful. (4) Mind boggling number of tourist visiting the place, especially to see the sunset. While the view is good it is just way too crowded. (5) The place is very pretty, but it was very crowded. I went to see a traditional dance show, and people just kept entering the small collosseum, blocking emergency exits and the stairs. I didn’t feel safe at all. (6) Nice place with a lot of history~~\nOne of the top spots to visit in Bali~~\nNice spots for pictures~~ (7) Defiantly go for sunset, you can get great shots. I wouldn't go during the day too hot. Lots of people, vendors, shops. Bathrooms cost money (3000R) so keep that in mind and they don't have tissue for after so bring your own. I suggest hiring a private car (see my other review) if you want to see this along with other places in the safest way possible. (8) Beautiful but very crowded. Bathrooms were below average. I would try to go on a non-holiday, maybe mid week. (9) I managed to visit here a month ago. A little disappointed. In photos, everything looks much better. And also a lot of tourists. The best time to visit - before the dawn. (10) Has an old feel about it, in a great way. Not over-run with young drunk tourists, but still plenty to do if you so wish. (11) Good place for group, but too busy for a family trip. I suggest to everyone not to come to this place in afternoon. But overall we like the place (12) Shared cycleway/walkway was busy, but everyone was tolerent. The staff at the restaurants tried were attentive but not in your face. They also tried to accomodate our individual needs. (13) Although this gets very busy during tourist season it is still a must see - one of the most beautiful places I've seen - and the time to go is at sunset - watching the sunset was mesmerising - plan it when the weather is good... (14) We got there before 8am and shared it with only 2 other couples. Definitely worth getting up early before the hordes of people arrive. (15) After you pay a dollar to get in your eyes simply can not process all to see at once. There is so much to take in all at once. This is a selfie haven! It is interactive and very clean. The bathroom and smelly. There is a spring fed swimming pool with a changing room. It is very cold. Evenin the sticky Bali heat I had trouble going in. This was worth the drive. (16) Wonderful place to be there for sunset. Toooooooo gooooood. U feel blessed by the holy spirit. Many spots for selfie and pics with your loved ones. Engage the local photographer and its worth for the money. (17) I was very lucky to come here early in the morning. I can imagine how full this place must be later in the day.... (18) Typical touristic place with usual hawkers, shops selling souvenirs etc. \n\nBest time to visit around Sunset as for the best views. (19) it really is a great place, a very unique atmosphere, I love being in this place and the natural scenery makes me comfortable (20) Very peaceful with a fantastic view. Had a bintang while enjoying the view, even did a business phone call (sorry) at my tempory office. Fantastic. (21) It is a great place to visit and it is the icon of IDR 50K notes.. It has paddle boat rental and garden to relax.. (22) Went there with my wife after hearing so much about it. The view from top is beautiful. Definitely one of the place to visit in Bali.\n\nRecommended to go in the morning to avoid the crowd. (23) Interesting place to visit & not far from town centre. After it is a short walk to some nice restaurants. (24) Must see/visit when in Bali. Bit far to travel but worth it when you get there. amazing views. Best time to go is morning. (25) Not sure the 2 hour drive is worth the wait. It is a lovely location with it being on the lake and in the mountains but the time it takes to get there and the constant stopping for all the buses that clog the road make it waste of time to me. Have a look on your Rp 50,000 note and you can see the same view.\nVery crowded and impossible to get a photo without somebody jumping in front of you to get their own photo.\nThe drive through the mountains would be nice if you appreciate that sort of thing and you will the 4 hours return journey to enjoy the views. (26) If you want a quite and peaceful place. This popular tourist attraction is one of the places in Bali come here at dawn. It is a real heaven. (27) Great Show, nice experience with the Sunset View background. \n\nCheck my Bali Video here: https://vimeo.com/108554450 (28) great place to catch up with expats from all over , great feel with familiar people great information found here on what to do and what to watch out for!! (29) Beautiful serene peaceful, there's so much history in this attraction it would take too long to write about it but one thing is for sure UNMISSABLE! (30) This is our second visit and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. It is an easy stroll around and entry was very reasonable. While there we say a wedding, which was a bonus. (31) Beautiful views, lots of great hotels around. Not too much in terms of activities, but people come here to relax. (32) Absolutely beautiful (it really does look the same as on the Lonely Planet Guidebook.) An absolute must if in the area. Get there early to avoid the crowds - we arrived at 8am and there was nobody at all. The early morning sun also really added to the atmosphere. We also took out a traditional Balinese (a jakung) for 50,000R - it was so peaceful and we were the only people on the lake. Amazing. (33) Despite the many vendors and cyclists, very entertaining. Lots of refreshment areas, which are need in the heat. Losts of cheap places to eat. (34) Very good holiday destination. Focusing on tourists and holiday vibes. There are many hotels in this location, which is a benefit as the shops or centres then collect shoppers from their hotel or close to the hotel for free and drop them off again at the hotel. (35) A wonderful cultural and historic short visit. It does get a bit crowded but not over bearing. Ample opportunity to move around and see all the angles and views of a very symbolic and traditional place. Parking can be tight but once again achievable with a bit of luck. Get a taxi and enjoy the trip. (36) Entrance fee rp 30,000 per person. The scenery was breath-taking and you could easily spend 1-2 hours taking photos there (3 major spots as backdrop). Since it's west facing, pretty good spot to see sunset. \n\nThere are some shops selling souvenirs . Although we didn't really ask for the price, clothing seems pretty cheap and aren't marked up heavily compared to other places e.g. ubud market. (37) I still don't think I've seen something that spectacular anywhere else in the world. It's getting more and more touristic, yes, but because of obvious reasons... (38) Outstanding place really very nice for a visit. We as a family had a great day and walked l around the place so much so we were worn out by the end of the 3 hours we were there. (39) Pretty cheap to get in and worth a look around. Very busy even though we went in off season. Would advise going early morning as it can get quite hot (40) Had a good time here! It's one of the must go places! We pay for a driver to take us around every day, cost about USD35, it's really worth it, save lots of time on calling and waiting for taxi at each stop. (41) Wow is what I say. Absolutely took my breath away when I visited the place did not expect it to be so beautiful. But loved every moment will defiantly be recommending to my friends when visiting Bali. Beautiful sceanery and atmosphere can't wait to visit again. (42) Gorgeous spiritual place. We went there during the food festival. Lots of shops food stalls and attractions to visit. With entertainment and visual stimulus. The ocean there is great for surfing ( or watching) as we did. The sunset is beautiful with many photo opportunities. As soon as the sun sets what seems like a million bats take to the skies. What a sight to see. (43) I visited 30 years ago and had no real interest to return this trip. But I had an hour to kill and wandered in, and ended up visiting twice. Very easy to spend time here, beautiful beyond description and much, much improved infrastructure since first visit in '87. Well worth the 50000rp (44) We were lucky, big waves coming in from the south, had really nice sunset. The place can get crowdy though, so don't expect to be alone.\n (45) We got here around 9am and there we not many people around. Lovely to walk and round and photo graph. Cost us 50,000idr $5 aud per person. Just up the road are the handara gates which makes a lovely photo 10,000 ird $1aud per person (46) Didn't stay too long but we stopped for some refreshments. Great place for both locals n tourists. They were getting ready for a meet. Lots of flags of different countries at the far side. Good memories of the place (47) absolutely magical spot. It is very steep at times but slow n steady wins the race. Well worth the effort.\nThe views will blow your mind. Great photos to be taken. (48) This is one of the most photographed and shared places in Bali, so it's definitely worth a visit. You can spend there at least 2 hours and keep discovering beautiful things and viewpoints. Come with your camera battery fully charged. (49) Went there via booking a private driver. The view there was amazing! We saw the sunset and standing at the cliff from high above the view was truly beautiful:) all in all, amazing scenery! This is a must visit!!⭐️ (50) Great place to visit ! We enjoyed it. This is beautiful and peaceful. Don’t hesitate to go and enjoy (51) Beautiful, fun, friendly wonderful and relaxing, truly this is paradise on earth. I don't know anywhere I would rather be at sunset. (52) Too beautiful for words. Go just before sunset and wait for that magical moment. Waves splashing onto the rocks, sun setting in the horizon... I am looking forward to return again soon. (53) Had a fantastic day out there's plenty to see and do and not badly priced too. We went early and was on our own so if you can I would suggest going early (54) I would love to go back here one day! It was so lush and beautiful. Very tranquil, too! Also, I was able to get amazing photos. (55) a short walk from water blow-stunning at sunset- popular with locals and tourists and worth more than one visit (56) Very busy, especially with large tour groups so there was a bit of a wait to get onto the stepping stones or to get an uncluttered picture. Still worth a visit. (57) I didn't catch the sunset here but it was still a nice place to visit. I was there around 3pm so it was very hot (58) One of the nicest places and most amazing spots for sunset.\nPrepare your camera and get ready for some nice shots.\nYou will surely enjoy this place. (59) Nice spot for experience and photography. One should visit while in Bali. You be charged entry fee of IDR 60,000 or something (I forgot the exact amount). (60) I went there on the afternoon and yet the view is AWESOME!\nyet the place flooded by tourist and locals, this place is the best for sunset and this is the main bali attraction. So if you visiting bali, this place is a MUST.
