(1) Our driver rushed us up there and bypassed other stops to try and get us there before the weather closed in. We got that as it was so had a very limited opportunity to actually get a good view. But it was worth the trip and would be an amazing trip on a good weather day. Forget it if it's raining or storming
(2) As part of my trip to Bali I really wanted to visit here. My husband and I booked a tour that included this to which when we got there... I felt like it was oversold in the pictures and not as exciting as I first thought. Whilst walking around we were absolutely shocked and disgusted by the stares we received from locals and other tourists. We are black (I am light skinned and my husband is dark skinned)... our visit was ruined when some locals started laughing and pointing at my husband and that is when we decided we had enough and left. \n\nOverall very disappointing and whilst not everyone starred at us maybe some people should pick up a book and educate themselves about people in the world and how we all look different
(3) As should be expected this stunning area is a magnet for visitors. Although very busy it is certainly a site to put in the memory bank.
(4) The view is absolutely awesome !!!\nIs something to see if you come to Bali.\nBUT : there's a local mafia. Nevers try to do it by yourself or you will have some problems with the 30 angry people waiting at the entrance.\nYou have to pay for a local guide.
(5) Go early, as early as you can. Maybe catch the sun rise here. Its magical. It is a touristy place but you can avoid the crowds by getting there early. Take a boat ride (not a noisy motor boat) maybe a canoe and enjoy the tranquil waters surrounded by lush green hills and cool weather. Must visit when in Bali.
(6) This is a beautiful spot! Great for photos and popular on instagram - can get a bit crowded though as everyone wants their picture taken here
(7) Awesome place, gets better every time we visit (4 times so far) with more and more improvements happening all the time . Worth the effort, definately.
(8) Yes its crowded but the sunset views are great. A lot more commercialized than I thought with all the surrounding vendors/stalls but so many unobstructed views when you head up to the cafes at the top. Just sit, soak it in, and enjoy the view! \n\nIf you have time to have a drink I would sit and do so. If not just snap the pic and enjoy!
(9) It takes minimum 2-3 hours from Bali ,most of the people feels what great to see here after 3 hours journey but thing is we must enjoy the nature's beauty and great Balinese\nstyle of constructions ( traditional) and villages en route .\nafter lunch you have to walk for 5 minuets for Photo spot .\nHer you can find couple of sellers please buy something for your family and support your level to their products.
(10) You have to go, but go early in the day before the hordes of tourists and banana sellers. It gets hot and can be a bit crazy. The kids loved it. Please don't wear bikini tops - weird tourists!!!!!
(11) Nice place, well kept. Must try. Nature at it's best....Don't spend more than an hour and half there..
(12) We love it! Nice view and romantic! The place its too far but worth it! Its good for all the people love the nature.
(13) It's a shame this place is a tourist location as its run down and needs a lot of TLC to bring back to its former glory. Masses of people taking selfies impacted my experience of appreciating the beauty this place has to offer.
(14) Amazing view but go there after 3 pm when the day tours are done. Otherwise it's packed and you can't really enjoy the view with all the selfie sticks in your way.
(15) Good to visit with family, its a very leisure place, very calm, you can see the ancient culture across the place.
(16) I came here twice and the perfect time is the second one, not too crowded and so calm. See the blue sea and it was high enough.
(17) I would advise anyone visiting this attraction to visit early in the morning or after 5. we got there around lunchtime and there were literally hundreds of people on the rocks with selfie sticks.. phones cameras in the air.. if you want great photos try to come before the rush and enjoy the beauty.. serenity of this natural wonder..
(18) this cannot get anything less than full stars. Just see the photos posted by travelers and you would know why. Go now before it gets commercialized.
(19) The place is a lil crowded.. many people rush here for a reason...\nIt's the sunset here!!!\nIt's just spectacular view...\nNot a normal sunset, just the combination of a beautiful location, mountain, ocean and a temple on top...\nJust perfect...
(20) very nice location to visit at sunset or during the day, take your time and sit admiring the beauty of nature
(21) Touristy? Yes. Lots of Australians? Yes. Beautiful, perfect for families, couples, friends? Yes. When I was there, there was an amazing festival going on with vendor booths, an Indonesian/Balinese dance performance, reggae music, dancing, and delicious food (the best burrito I have ever eaten, sold out of a little red Volkswagen van). I also went on a weekday, and it was decidedly less crowded. See nearby Aroma Spa Retreat reviews! Great way to spend a day.
(22) Good to see the safety measures being taken to protect the tourist from injury or worse. A stunning view point and worthy of an hour or two.
(23) We picked the wrong day to come here, it was a local holiday and there were thousands here but that said the day was beautiful and the photos we took were insane, had a spot to eat at the buffet and price wise it was okay, its nice to wander about the temples and not have to remember to put on a sarong all the time.\n\nMade a boo boo with a guy who asked where I was from, said Europe - he said something about football and I just said yeah football, next thing I knew I was standing with loads of people getting my picture taken....so someone in Bali a group of kids think they have a selfie with a famous footballer.
(24) So picturesque and tranquil. Can easily spend couple of hours here just to chill and take in the breath taking scenery.
(25) Beautiful position and setting, We go there every time we are in Bali and have not been disappointed yet.\nAn oldie but a goodie!
(26) Lovely place, but too touristy. Avoid going in late afternoons as too much crowd for sunset and not best lighting for photos. Best visited first thing in morning, less crowded and great lighting for photos.
(27) Beautiful place to relax but also a very fun night life to have fun beautiful people we will be coming back again :)
(28) This Place is so beautiful. If you are visiting this place than go in the evening. You will get a chance to view the most amazing sunset view. It's a little bit crowded but it's worth a visit.
(29) The sun rose about 6:30 when we were there. We sat on the pier and looked at the pagodas in the distance and the mountains far off. Just when we thought we had missed the sunrise, there was a tiny sliver of orange and then it quickly evolved into a beautiful sky.
(30) Cool, relaxing place. We did a lott of stairs and walking. Not so recommend for people who don't like to walk .
(31) It is a must have in your visit to bali if you like local culture and even if you don't because the sunset is simply amazing here.
(32) Was a nice day out but not cheap lots of add ons after buying your tickets everything cost. The kids loved it and was a very good day. I rated it average because i think it was over priced for what it is.
(33) The place that where you can heal your body and soul. The view was incredible gorgeous and the vibes of nature is really strong. Really feel like the heaven on earth. Wish can come back again another time
(34) Nice waterfront location, good paths to stroll along and soak up the busy atmosphere. Heaps of eating places catering to all needs, good vibes, lots of music in the evenings, very pretty all lit up, great happy hours!
(35) If you are nearby I would wander through but definitely not worth a special trip, very touristy...far better things to do in the area
(36) Must try place when you visit bali...perfect for family activities.must be early to experience all activites
(37) Beautiful place but sadly unable to appreciate with 2 hours long rain keeping everyone indoors at the restaurant. Hopefully the rain clears soon else it will be such a waste to travel so far without taking in the sights .
(38) Disappointed that this place turned into a tourist trap as in it cost my husband and I with our 4 year old on a scooter $170,000 rupea to enter the area. Then you walk through a substantial sized market of vendors all selling pretty much the same type of stuff then you walk down to the water and realize there is at least 1000 other people with the same plan as you for the sunset and it completely losses its appeal as a special spot.
(39) Really nice place to visit. Highly recommended it. Very scenic with beautiful architecture. Great photo opportunities.
(40) Becoming a definite tour destination with a crazy amount of motorbikes, vans and cars pouring into the area on narrow challenging roads.\nOnce there, through the crowds it is a stunning view.
(41) This place is a “tourist slum”!\nThere are the paradise-like resorts of course but set one step out of it and paradise changes into a hell.\n\nThe type of tourists are the young budget traveller and the “too-fat-to DIY tourists”.
(42) beautiful scenery for family to relax. Suitable for all age groups as the place offers activities for all
(43) Been here every Bali trip. Took the kids for the first time today. Will never go again, expensive, dirty, spend your hard earned else where.
(44) Another must do shame loads of people dont follow the rules but hey ho thats life worth spending a couple of hours walking round
(45) Its clear that this was once a beautiful place to visit as Bali culture is beautiful but unfortunately its been overrun with Starbucks, drunk tourists, and westerners with no respect. The locals are still friendly but if you travel all the way to Bali but need to have everything convenience of western life, do everyone a favor and stay home.
(46) Sunrise here would be amazing but not sure you can get in at what time.\nThe view is magical and really worth seeing.\nShould be one of your stops indeed
(47) no entry charge - free parking - getting there via motor bike is better no proper marked roads by small signage would guide - nothing much to do but just admire natures fury
(48) Yes, we did too. We had heard that the line to wait for your photo was four hours, but we we wanted to go at sunset and we waited about 40 minutes. The people who work there will take your phone/camera and then put a mirror under the camera to give the look of water under the shot (Sorry, spoiler there). It is worth it though.... if you go, you get 3 looks per person and they make you change them fast as they yell at you to change your look as they fast shutter the camera. Both men and women will need to rent sarongs and you may want tip the people who take the photos for you. Enjoy!
(49) We arrived in the morning and spent around 2.5 hrs walking around. Quite a few enclosures are in the midst of an upgrade and cafe/shop not on the cheap side but plenty for young children without being a long day. Water park to finish off was great until within 10 min it was totally over crowded by what appeared to be young school children.
(50) Good food local food nice bumbu.bali sambel matah sambel uyah sere tabia nice service bali experience
(51) Really nice, and a must see! Had a really good time there! Can only recommend it. But watch out for your bag
(52) Great place for photos, a very busy attraction. I recommend arriving there around 3pm to beat the traffic and get a good seat for the Kacak Dance and amazing sunset photos.
(53) It was very enjoyable to walk through. We were there around noon time and the place was crowded. It is nice to walk around and get good photos but you have to patient because of the many people walking around.
(54) Unfortunately we had a massive downpour while there but it did clear enough for our to enjoy the area. Worth the visit.
(55) We were lucky to go when it wasn't busy and It was a good walk to see lovely buildings that still stand.
(56) Its a very touristy place but we enjoyed it. If you take your time and soak up the sights you are likely to enjoy it. Its probably something we would only do once. There are heaps of shops to buy things so we did alot of shopping here. Even snakes to have a photo with for a small charge. There are also lots of places to eat.
(57) It is one of thous places which are different from so many other similar tourist attractions here and it is realy beautiful
(58) We arrived around 4 in the afternoon and found it quite crowded. Tourists everywhere scrambling to get the best photo/selfie.\nIt was extremely beautiful though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Our driver told us the crowds increase 10 fold for sunset. I personally wouldn't want to be there at that time if that is the case. \nI'm glad we went but probably wouldn't bother going again.
(59) If you are in the region it is worth stopping by for a visit. Having said that a drive up and along the east coast of Bali is a marvellous route. All routes are fabulous actually. - up and over through the centre or round the east or west.
(60) By far THE BEST TOUR AND TOUR GUIDE WHILE IN Bali is Gede Wiratmaja. This guide handled the whole Bali experience in the most professional, friendly way. Driver and or guide he takes on his profession with pride in his country and his joy in bringing you to his country to enjoy all of it. \nI HIGHLY recommend this man and his company.\nHe is honest and cheerful every minute he is with you.\nCant wait to return to Bali ...
