(1) Tanah Lot temple is in our itinerary for places to visit during our recent Bali holiday. It's a very serene, holistic & beautiful place to visit. The view of the area is simply breathtaking. The only thing we didn't managed to do here was to wait till sunset where we heard it's just simply amazing.
(2) Exquisite Balinese beauty, despite the huge crowds of tourists, you still get the clear feeling that it's a spiral place, sacred for Balinese people. A visit to Bali would not be complete without Tanah Lot.
(3) If your in Bali most people will tell you that you should visit Tanah lot. My wife and I enjoyed it. Beautiful temples. And you can walk out to one. Where you get blessed with holy water. It was really interesting. Do check it out.
(4) Arrived at Tanah Lot at end of a day sightseeing, hoping for a sunset photo opp. Temples are stunning, especially set against the ocean and sunset. But be warned - thousands of tourists everywhere (just like me), which detracts somewhat from the experience. Definately a must see in Bali, but perhaps choosing an earlier time (even morning) may have been better...
(5) We were there on a Saturday afternoon. As expected there were huge crowds and busloads of people from schools, etc. We did not exactly have good view of the tanah lot temple as it was crowded with people trying to take selfies. People were standing at the edge of the rock and it was quite dangerous. \nThe Tanah Lot area was also surrounded by outlets selling touristy things. We had a pleasant walk around the area. The kids were complaining about the heat. I guess, if your kids doesnt mind the heat, it is indeed a nice place to spend some time. We did not stay for sunset though as the kids want to go back to the swimming pool!
(6) When you are in Bali you must go for tu Tanah lot of temple\nIt a place for all group ages . main attraction si the sunset . One side temple is on cliff and other temple \n\nMust see sunset & fire dance
(7) Tanah Lot is a popular temple on the west coast of Bali. It has an unusual location on the top of a rocky outcrop with waves crashing in around it. The idea is sold as being something magical but the temple itself is pretty much nothing to see. It is the natural environment of the coastline that is the real attraction.\n\nEntrance to Tanah Lot is relatively cheap at around IDR60k for an adult. There is parking which is pretty cheap as well. Getting to Tanah Lot is not too difficult as it is a popular landmark and there is not all that much in the surrounding area.\n\nThe route to the temple takes in a surprisingly good market. There are lots of tourist goods to buy at actually decent prices. The stallholders are not too aggressive so the shopping experience is fine. It is a good place to pickup some tourist nicknacks and souvenirs, There are also a few restaurants though their quality is not all that high.\n\nThe walk through the market takes a good few minutes. It is flat though and it is possible to view from various points if needing to use wheels. \n\nThe temple area itself is an attractive piece of coastline. The base of the rock the temple sits on is surrounded by water so it is a bit wet getting across which makes it all the more appealing. The waves crash in at various places nearby so there is some nice savage nature on display. At high tides it is not possible to cross over to the temple area.\n\nThe temple itself is off limits which is a disappointment. It is actually hard to see as Tanah Lot is surprisingly small and hidden by greenery. It is possible to walk up some of the steps to the temple after being blessed for a small fee. It feels like a bit of a rip-off though as the steps themselves do not even afford a view of the temple.\n\nViewing points from higher up looking across the water are also interesting and are largely accessible.\n\nTanah Lot is busy as this part of Bali does not boast all that many spectacular natural sights surprisingly. There are people everywhere during peak season even in mid-morning which is a long way from the peak hours around sunset.\n\nThe backdrop of Tanah Lot is what makes it attractive. The natural surroundings are pleasant with the crashing waves but the temple itself is somewhat mundane.
(8) Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali. The temple is located on a rock just offshore. This is a Hindu God Vishnu temple established around 16th-Century. \n\nThis is one of the top 5 attraction of Bali tourism. The temple located at south-west coastline of Bali. It will take 1.5 hours by from Kuta beach to be arrived this location. In year ending this will take longer time to get in to the Temple because of heavy traffic. \n\nThe main temple is few step inside on the ocean from the beach. During low tide anyone can easily walk to the main temple. Even during high tide it is possible to walk toward to the temple. The ocean is very aggressive here, but most of the webs break on the Temple rock. \n\nThe entry fee is about 30,000 IDR or 2.5 dollar for adult and 15,000 IDR or 1.5 dollar for children. There are many shops outside the temple. You can buy souvenirs, dresses and foods from there, but the prices are very high the Kuta center or Kuta Art market. \n\nNo need to wear sharung to visit the temple. You must bring your camera with you. Most recommended time to visit the site during sunset.
(9) About an hour drive from Seminyak is Tanah Lot Temple, Balis scenic sea temple.\n\nWe paid a fee at the carpark and we passed hundreds of market stalls, shops, restaurants and a cultural park before we got to the temple main gates. \n \n\nAlong the coast we saw dark sandy beaches and unique rocky outcrops. At high tide, waves flood the causeway making it impossible to cross to Tanah Lot. During low tide, access to the island is via a causeway not accessible for someone in a wheelchair, however well worth a visit.
(10) Tanah Lot temple is a most beautiful place to visit. The gardens surrounding it are lovely, and the temple in the sea is amazing for photographs. Very hot, make sure you have a hat and sunscreen.
(11) We visited Tanha Lot Temple Very recently.\nThis place is must see for Bali visitors.\nPlace is very well maintained.\nSome upgradation work is under progress.\nGood shopping options close to this place.
(12) This was not our first visit to the Tanah Lot temple, but I never get tired of this sight , this mood . The temple is a pilgrimage temple on the top of Tanah Lot rock .\nMeanwhile waiting for the famous sunset worth to stroll on the beach , admire the temple from different angles , but you must go up to the cliff top restaurant in time , since they quickly will run out of good tables .\nOrder a real Pinacolada , served in a coconut , rather than the one that is comes in a glass .\nThere is nothing better than sipping your drink, admiring the enchanting temple as it hanging on top of the cliff, and wait for the magic sunset .\nWorth all the money such a night, this wonderful environment , where you reverently looking forward to say goodbye to the sun . And what is , if we enjoy it in the company of hundreds or thousands others tourists? Tanah Lot and sunset are for everyone .
(13) This temple is perfect for watching the sunset. There is a 20,000 entrance few per person, and you have to cover up legs, but they provide you with a sarong type thing to do this with. There are also monkeys, so you have to be careful with sunglasses etc, but this just adds to the experience. We visited Tanah Lot earlier in the day and thought this was much nicer, and not as busy. Go for sunset!
(14) Tanah lot temple was a must do we were there for the sunset which was spectacular. Family enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was high tide which prevented us from visiting the island but there were plenty of viewing opportunities.
(15) Been wanting to visit for years so finally got to Tanah Lot, was wonderful to see it and walk along the pathways,It was high tide so didnt walk out to the temple. Lots of markets which were a really good price, nice little restaurants.
(16) 26 March, 2017\nTanah Lot Temple is one of the most iconic landmarks in Bali. This ancient Hindu temple was built to worship the Sea God, Dewa Baruna a few hundred years ago.\n\nThe entrance ticket costs 60000idr (345 taka) per adult, taxi parking charges is 5000idr.(30 taka)\n(1 BDT = 174 idr)..IDR = Indonesian rupiah\n\nIt is near from Kuta...so is advisable to take tour from Kuta or other near by region.\n I would highly recommend to see \nthe temple before sunset,\nthe view of the ocean is spectacular, \nwaves plus the stunning temple standing at the edge of a cliff is such a great view while waiting for sunset. \n\nSo romantic if you're with your special one.......
(17) A chance to see one of the most talked about areas in Bali, so we made the time to go to the Tanah Lot Temple. Very busy with plenty of market stalls to see before reaching the beautiful gardens that make up part of the Tanah Lot experience. Such an amazing place, breathtaking views across the water and of course, the marvel that is the Temple. Waited patiently for the sunset but unfortunately the weather was not in our favour. Although the sunset was wonderful, it didnt last very long. But not disappointed with our visit, if you get the chance to visit, do it. You wont want to miss this stunning part of Bali
(18) This is surely the must go place when you visited Bali. There is a good reason why this temple is very famous. It was steeped with traditions and history of Bali. The temple was renowned for its mythical stories and legends on how it was built by a renowened ancient monk and guarded by a huge water snake. The place was very crowded with tourists but it was expected since its the no 1 landmark in Bali. In fact I came twice to this place; because the first time I came we tried to catch the sunset but too bad we were quite late and besides it was a rainy day. The skies turned dark quite fast and we had little time for some photography. Came back the next day to beautiful blue cloudy skies in the morning. Photography session was superb and the views are beautiful though I got myself some sunburn. Overall, please visit this place if the day is not rainy and during the low tide, one can walk across to the temple. There are also 2 other temples along the coastline and you can take your time strolling along the well paved walkways. There are some hidden cafes up the hill along a small lane before the Tanah Lot main temple. You can enjoy the sea breeze while having a cold drinks on a hot day and also can look at another view of the temple.
(19) This popular tourist destination is a crowded but interesting place to visit.\n\nThere are many market stalls where you can buy souvenirs, clothing, snacks and meals. \n\nI've been here twice now - once at low tide and once at high tide. Low tide means you can get closer to the temple. However, you're not able to climb it and go inside. Personally, I thought it was better to visit at high tide, as the photos are more interesting - the temple looks more like it's truly stuck in the sea. \n\nOn my most recent trip, I bought some Bintang at Tanah Lot's Coco Mart and sat to watch the sunset. \n\nEntry is cheap, but you need to also pay for parking. For entry for my husband and I, plus parking for our driver, it was about 16000IDR (about $16AUD).\n\nTraffic get there and getting home is awful! Be prepared!! Especially if you want to visit at sunset, as everyone leaves at the same time. \n\nThe toilets are interesting - be prepared! You have to pay around 2000-5000IDR ($2-5AUD) but the toilet may well be dirty, could be a squat toilet and may not have toilet paper. Pack some tissues, wet ones and hand sanitiser just in case!\n\nIf you arrive at the right time, you may even see a dance performance.
(20) This is a beautiful temple in the lake, with the mountains and clouds surrounding it. It really is a picture perfect temple. It is very touristy, so be prepared to see a lot of people, but it was not over-crowded. If you're debating between this temple and Tanah Lot temple (the one in the sea), this one wins by far! Go check it out; it only costs about 30,000 IDR to get in
(21) Tanah Lot temple (Pura Tanah Lot) is a temple you have to visit when in Bali. It's located in the ocean and is best accessible at low tide. It's a good place to see the sunset as well.
(22) A place that you must pay a visit. Very nice and good view to check it out... heritage building structure with a temple on the small rock island at Tanah Lot.
(23) It's possible that the lengthy traffic jam we encountered on our way to Tanah Lot made me a little cranky and unappreciative after we finally arrived. The coastline at this point is rocky and the siting of the temple dramatic. However, you can't go into the temple and you don't even get a really good view of it from a distance. There's a crush of stalls selling the usual tourist souvenirs and drinks immediately outside the temple environs. Try to got at sunset if possible, to get the best experience.
(24) tanah lot temple is nice place to visit to take pictures. you can not tnter the temple.. you are going thee only for clicking nice pictures. you have 1 small garden and 2-3 rocks on hwhich you can stand and have pictures.. good view during sunset time.. its quite far from nusa dua ,, appx 1 hour plus drive. \n\nyou will find photographers , who are very cooperative and ready to click pictures evn in your mobile... a photographer will charges appx indian rupees 50 for to click picture and give you photo from his camera... \n\nfew shops are located to buy mineral water, some traditional items, coconut water(you should have,, its around rs 100 but its worth).. you have public toilet and even private toilet (indian ruppes 20 chargeable, its clean )\n\nyou can spend appx 1 hour at this place..
(25) Tanah Lot is a rock formation in the island of Bali and is home to the temple Pura Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot temple was built in 16th-century and is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. The main deity of the temple is Bhatara Segara, who is the sea god. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism.
(26) If you are in Bali then must go to Tanah Lot temple. Superb location and very scienic. For photo lovers also good place . Try to go in evening to see sunset.
(27) Tanah Lot is Balis oldest and most holy temple. Its set by the seaside, and at high tide, you have to wade to get there- though we were there at low tide, so we could walk. You cant actually get in, but the views of the temple are amazing! Its a full sensory experience, since you can hear and smell the ocean, too. Stay for sunset- the colors reflect in the black sand, for a really gorgeous experience.
(28) I was a bit disappointed in this temple after seeing Tanah Lot - maybe the key is to go here first and THEN go to Tanah Lot. Be careful if it has rained, as the paths get muddy and there are aggressive monkeys here, too. Worth a stop, but the traffic is bad and you only need about 45 minutes to see it all.
(29) We came here after finding it on Trip Advisor and reading all the good reviews of it. The reality was not as described, the temple itself is both interesting and different but as the tide was in we couldnt get that close to it, I didnt mind that as its part of the location of the temple.\n\nMy main disappointment comes from the area around the temple which isnt in any of the photos. The area around it is really really built up with tourist shops and restaurants that are there to cater to the tourist market, there just so much of it that it really ruins the experience and takes away from the religious site of the temple. Its not even as though theyre local shops that are trying to get a bit more business they have been purposely built in the area as you have to by your entrance ticket first when wade through all the shops, stalls and people trying to seek you tat. \n\nThere also a cliff that would give you great views of the temple but its has been covered in restaurants and cafe who wont let you step foot up there to look at the temple unless you buy something from them. \n\nI was massively disappointed and underwhelmed by Tanah Lot and I would tell people to save their time and money and go else where as you dont really see a lot for the price you pay.
(30) Allow plenty of travel time as there is so much traffic in Bali. We hired a driver from Seminyak and were surprised that that it took 1hr 20mins to travel 17kms to Tanah Lot. I didn't mind the travel time as it allowed us to soak in some views of back streets and everyday living in Bali - just don't expect to go over 40kms per hour.\n\nThere are a lot of restaurants and sellers at both entry/exit points to Tanah Lot which made it feel very commercilised and touristy. The walk along the cliff was nice and the area seemed well maintained but there were many sellers along the way as well as bus loads of tourists. Batu Bolong Temple was attractive with it's carved out bridge but Tanah Lot we felt was slightly underwhelming. There isn't much else to do as you are not able to access the temple.\n\nUnfortunately we found the spirituality of the place was lost with the crowds and i would think if you have been to a temple or two before that you could probable skip this one.
(31) Tanah lot temple is built on a little rock at the beach. Temple is very beautiful and artistic as other places in Bali. One has to walk for mins to reach temple from parking. This place is suggested for sunset by tour guide which is quite right. You cannot reach actual temple due to regulations but can see the beautiful temple from very close.
(32) The Tanah Lot Temple was beautifully built at the edge of the ocean. You can see the great work & hear the sound of Nature while big waves hitting the cliffs & rocks alongside the temple. It's a wonderful picture of Bali! As we didn't have enough time to stay till sunset, I believe it would be fantastic to enjoy the sunset view there.
(33) Tanah lot is one of the must see attractions while youre in Bali. We went to Tanah Lot in the afternoon since we were told that sunset is beautiful from this area. When we got there, we could see the tanah lot and its low tide at that time thats why we can roam around the temple. Too bad that this place is overcrowded with tourists (we cannot blame the place itself since its a main attraction in Bali) so if you want to take majestic picture of the temple, expect that there will be many tourists in your pic.
(34) Tanah Lot Temple is an iconic site, with the temple dramatically separated from the shore on a cliff. Even when the tide is low, you can only access the base of the temple. While we considered it to be a must-see that photographs beautifully, it is not a peaceful location. The walk from the parking lot is a carnival atmosphere and the popularity of the site means it is very crowded. We did not have an option, but if your schedule is flexible I suggest going at a time of day that is not peak for tourists.
(35) One of the best decisions of my life will still be hiring a scooter and riding up to Tanah Lot Temple in Bali. The sunset view is simply spectacular and way more cheap than going all the way down to Rock Bar. The view is breathtaking. The waves crashing against the rocks and the temple just make for an absolutely stunning view. The way you reach the footsteps of the temple amidst the waves is pretty fun and must do! The shops outside Tanah lot are one of the cheapest in Bali and have some insanely beautiful souvenirs. A must visit.
(36) Tanah lot must be the island 's most iconic temple , is on top of a huge rock surrounded by sea and a beautiful place to view sunset , must me there to view scenic sunset .
(37) We travelled to Tanah Lot Temple from Jimbaran Bay which took just under 2 hours because of heavy traffic. The way to the temple at Tanah Lot is through many, many market stalls - but there is no badgering to buy, We were lucky when we arrived at the beach as the tide was out and it was possible to walk up to the Temple receiving a blessing from the people in a cave beforehand. Tanah Lot Temple is a very busy spot and a very popular tourist attraction.
(38) Tanah Lot is a beautiful and mistical temple built on a rock. When the sea is up, it will give a vibe of 'floating'. When the sea is down, you can walk carefully to see around the temple, you choose, watching the holy snake with a small donation, or purify yourself with the holy water so that you can go up to the temple, or just spend your times taking selfies.\nThis temple is really popular. I've visited it several times and it's always crowded with tourist, domestics and internationals. \nNot only the Tanah Lot, there are some other temples that are beautiful as well on the area. If you like, you can go there at late afternoon to see the beautiful sunset. Once the sun is down, a bunch of bats will fly across the sky. So beautiful and mesmerising.
(39) Set your destination agenda to Tanah Lot, whenever you have time to go vacation in Bali. You will never get disappointed. Every single picture shoot from any side, it will create excellent images in your photo album. The wave is friendly, the mystic smells are very strong, that's what I can call unique selling point.
(40) After seeing photographs are reading reviews we decided to get a taxi and see this temple whilst staying in Bali.\n\nThe roads in Bali are congested so whilst it took a while to get to from Changgu, we hoped the temple would compensate - oh how I was wrong.\n\nOnce you walk past the usual stalls peddling water, fruit etc. you walk past the first mini temple which requests that no females on periods may enter. Not that you can enter regardless... only walk up towards its entrance.\n\nA little further and you walk down towards the beach upon which the Tanah Lot template sits on a small jut of rock. I can see the attraction with the sun setting, however when you walk past the hoard of selfie takers and approach the rock, you see a closed staircase on the right, a cave with holy water and a 'donation box', and what seems to be an open staircase on the left. Out of curiosity, I walked towards the open staircase only to be informed that I needed the holy water to proceed. Not wanting to be forced into a donation, I walked further to the left and saw that the open staircase was in fact, closed, but only out of sight for those who wished to climb it. Funnily enough you saw the looks of surprise from those eager to be anointed as they walk round and up about 15 steps only to come across the closed sign.\n\nFurther away from the temple are some lovely rock pools which had several crabs and fish in them which I much preferred. The temple itself is nice from a distance but fairly representative of the shallow insta-feel that Bali portrayed overall.
(41) We visited the Tanah Lot Temple around 1pm and becausae of the water, we were not able to go the island or to enter the temple. For this reason, we did not really like it. The area is full of shops and it's nice to make a picture, but ask your guide what's the best time for visiting since we experienced a little deception.
(42) Tanah Lot, bali is a natural tourist attractions is very popular with local and foreign tourists, many visitors who come to bali say should come to bali Tanah Lot, Tanah Lot if you have not yet been to Bali so people praise tourist attraction located Beraban village, district of Kediri, Tabanan regency. There are two temples are located in Tanah Lot Beach,The temple is located o top of the boulder and temple located on top of a cliff that juts into the sea. Tanah Lot temple is a place of Worship of gods guard the sea, this temple located in the middle of the sea. When the tide, By the time the tide temple is clearly visible in the middle of the sea, For hindus who pray to the Tanah Lot temple should at low tide, then people could cross to the Tanah Lot temple.
(43) Tanah Lot Temple is a MUST when you visit Bali!! This temple can only be visited when it is low tide as it is situated in the sea :-) truly wonderful to see!! There are also a lot of restaurants and shops where you can buy lots of amazing clothes and presents (remember to negotiate your price before just accepting any total when buying clothes or gifts in the markets)!
(44) Tanah Lot temple is a very beautiful place especially on sunset time! Tho it's a bit crowded but definitely a place to visit!
(45) Tanah lot is a beautifull temple - but it is simply too crowded with tourists! \n\nWe spent some hours there to watch the sunset - which is beautifull but you will have to deal with watching it alongside thousands of others.\n\nWe left just before the sunset ended, and thereby we avoided what most be a trafical chaos when everybody leaved the area :-)
(46) We went to Tanah Lot close to lunchtime. Not too busy at this time and it was well worth visiting. Beautiful Pura Tanah Lot temple set on an incredible rock formation shaped over the years by the ocean tide. We also went to the reptile park at the entrance to the temple (after all the market stalls) We got to hold a huge python! Amazing. They had an incredible selection of massive snakes. The biggest I have ever seen.
(47) Tanah lot temple is a temple for Hindus in Bali. This temple is located in Tabanan Bali regency in the village. The Tanah Lot temple can be traveled for 30 minutes from Seminyak area. There are several temples around the Tanah Lot temple, one of them Batu Bolong Temple
(48) Tanah Lot is a very scenic temple situated on a bluff right next to the sea. When it is high tide it is not accessible . But when it is Low tide you can go to the base of the temple where holy men then blesses you with the holy water spring. \nAt all times the temple is closed to tourists. \n\nTanah lot is incredibly busy during sunset as it faces west so if you wish to avoid the crowds go during the day.
(49) It was October the start of Bali's rainy season yet we were very lucky to still marvel at one of the world's most beautiful sunset spots - Bali's Tanah Lot Temple. This is my second time to visit this place with my parents and its beauty still radiates. A natural rock formation located in Northwestern Bali's town of Tabanan. It has been shaped for hundreds of years by the ocean tides. In Balinese it means Land in the Sea. On this rock sits one of Bali's Pilgrimage site - Purah Tanah Lot Temple. Built in the 16th century dedicated to Balinese sea God - Dewa Baruna. There are some venomous sea snakes the lives at the base of the rock. Entrance is around 60K IDR for Foreign adults. Despite the crowds of both tourists and locals alike the complex is spacious, huge, well and safely designed and beautiful. There is room and space for everyone specially for beautiful photos and videos to remember. There are 8 temples inside the complex - 3 sits on the rock formation and 5 on the coastlines. As you enter the temple complex, to your right stands one of the most famous rock formation similar to a bridge with the sunset just beneath it - Batu Bolong Temple. And as you walk straight from your left the main temple of Purah Tanah Lot stands. If it's low tide you can go down from the coastline and walk towards it - there is a cave beneath and stairs towards the temple. The place consists of limestone, sea rock and a bit slippery so extra careful when you walk. The Holy snake (Black/Silver sea snake) lives on the cave just in front of Purah Tahah Lot. At high tide you won't be able to descend down since the sea extends to the coastline. Many other temples are located on the complex with each own pilgrimage sites and Balinese Gods. A beautiful park with resting area and toilet are also located here. We decided to come back where we entered towards the exit area. We really did enjoy our moment at this Holy and Revered place with beautiful sunset photos taken by us - to cherish forever.
(50) tanah lot temple is simply superb. very well maintained. neat, clean and serene despite the huge number of people who visit each day. \nwe went all the way till the sacred waters, wet our head with it, then the priests blessed us by putting rice on the forehead and a flower in the ear (very typical and common in most Noth Indian temples)\nthe sunset was beautiful.\nOnce you enter the main gate, towards the left is the temple which is accessible only at low tide. \nbut you must explore the right side too... and go up until the new building under construction meant for kecak dance.\nsorry, i forgot the names of both the places.
(51) If you havent go to Tanah Lot then you havent officially visit Bali, since its one of the Balis signature. You may found some merchandise shops there, or event special event/traditional occasions. Please prepare to have a long journey to get there, and long walking distance after the entrance gate to get to the temple.
(52) Tanah Lott not sure whatt just a Lott of shops and a few temples you could nott access butt picturesque \nI'd love to surf the place butt cantt take your pics and buy some souvenirs with a good haggle and then join the traffic jam outt of the place.
(53) It was like adventurous trip for us...once we enter we could see to 2 different temples in either direction... But outsiders are not allowed inside.. the scene view is really nice...very long ocean.. actually we thought only tat...but here comes the actual place..tanah lot temple is built on sea.. so we need to cross the sea water to reach there.. we noticed that at around 5.30 - 6 pm..so we hurried up and went to that temple by crossing the sea ... Tirta was very tasty and no salty... Wen we return frm temple after praying the tides was very high.. I guess we were the last to come out of that..sea tides were very high.. the moment we crossed and reached the shore we couldn't imagine so fast water level rised.... Nobody can enter that tanah lot temple if water level is High... We had a very nice chance to look there and Lucky to get tirta from that temple.... If we hesitated little we would have missed it ... It was like an adventurous trip with kids...
(54) We got a taxi out to Tanah Lot from Canggu (approx 100k idr for 30 minute drive). We decided to go in the morning and were lucky enough to see it at high tide. This made the temple look like an island which was absolutely amazing and made you wonder at the feat of construction it would have required. There are also a number of restaurants and cafes within the complex overlooking the view of tanah lot in the ocean.
(55) If you knew the story of Tanah Lot, you definitely want to come here. Simply looking at the sunset and the temple you will be mesmerized by it.
(56) We visited tanah lot and spent the afternoon their, it is a beautiful temple set in the sea. \nUnfortunately we found it very crowded, therefore it made the visit quite tiring for us personally.\nWe stayed for the sunset which was beautiful, at the moment they are doing some renovations which also spoilt it a little bit but understandably these have to be carried out. \nThere are quite a few shops/stalls on the way into the temple and there are also plenty of toilet facilities. \nOverall a beautiful temple to see.
(57) Tanah lot is very beautiful and spiritual. The setting is breathtaking. Thanks to our wonderful driver Putu (+62 812 3682 9186), we got there in time to watch the sunset. Putu took us all around Ubud and Denespar. His is an excellent tour guide. Very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Putu.
(58) I went to this temple late morning, it was still low tide, so one could access the temple steps. There was a crowd, as with all famous attractions. None the less, the weather was good and the image presented was something I have never seen before. To access the steps of the temple, one must drink from the holy spring, and then be blessed by a holy man - of course a donation is warranted. The surrounding gardens and temples make for a scenic and peaceful walk, even amongst the crowds. You can definitely put Tanah lot temple on your to do list, when in Bali.
(59) Tanah Lot Temple is a truly cultural experience and definitely worth visiting. It feels like a different world to Seminyak and other places that most foreigners go to. Lovely countryside along the way too as you leave behind the busy places of Bali. The market around the temple is extensive too.
(60) Visited Tanah Lot Temple many many years ago and it was high tide and I couldn't get down near to the temple. This trip was a blessing, it was low tide around lunch time and I was able to walk really close to the temple and captured really beautiful shots of the temple and the surrounding.\n\nVisitors to Tanah Lot Temple do take note that there's an entrance fee of Rp60,000/ USD$4 Adults/ Rp30,000/USD$2 Child. On the way walking towards the temple, there are many stalls selling food, clothes, straw bags, souvenirs...etc Don't get distracted to shop, head to the temple first then shop on the way out. \n\nMost visitors come here to catch the sunset, I personally feel catching the morning sun is much better for great photos.\n\nDo wear comfortable shoes to walk on the beach which is covered with rocks and sand and some rocks are covered in green algae. You will easily spend an hour here, taking photos and having a drink. Will spend more time if you intend to shop and have food as well. I rather head elsewhere for food and shopping which is much cheaper.
