(1) Tanah Lot is a major tourist attraction, so it's crowded and full of vendors, but there is still a lot of magic there. The setting is lovely, and the temple is beautiful. It is well worth a visit.
(2) iconic temple for cultural and photography\none of best place to chase the sunset\nit is hard to get off the crowds hahaha\nshort story : Tanah Lot means \Land [in the] Sea\" in the Balinese language.[2] Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.\nAt the base of the rocky island, venomous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. The temple is purportedly protected by a giant snake, which was created from Nirartha's selendang (a type of sash) when he established the island\nThe Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples was established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism"
(3) Although its somewhat pricy to visit Tanah Lot , its actually worth it . I visited the place during the day instead of watching the sunset. But overall, the scenery during the day was still amazing and you could stand on the stones around to take a good selfie 🖒🖒\n\nIts definitely a must must to visit Tanah Lot. Around the area there are also a lot of souvenirs shop selling all kinds of handmade bracelets and you can even get a temporary tattoo there! \n\nPlus point, is that there are few restaurants for you to dine in after your visit.\n\n** There are also local camera man that can help you to take pictures and they will print it out for you . \n\n** Recommend for the travellers out there to visit here during the sunsets because the sun was scorching hot during the day!
(4) When you come to Bali you must visit Tanah Lot Temple because this temple is very unique. over here you can enjoy traditional fruit salad from Bali is call Rujak, enjoy luwak coffee, try holy water and see holy snake.
(5) We were sold on taking the 2+ hour drive from Ubud to Tanah Lot by the level of importance this sea temple has for a cultural perspective. However, it's surrounded by tatty souvenir stands, has parking lots to serve lots of tour buses and is overrun by crowds, really taking away from the mysticism of the temple. Pushy tourists, impatient tour guides, just not really creating the environment to appreciate this beautiful location. Unfortunate, but I would give this spot a miss and find another of the many beautiful temples in Bali.
(6) We enjoyed walking through the touristy shops on the way to the gate that opens toward the ocean and Tanah Lot (Hindu temple, built on a rock formation just off the beach). It seems that it was connected at one point but has eroded in a way that the tide makes it impassable most of the day. We got here early so it was peaceful but tour buses were pouring in with travelers from around the world. \n\nThere is a groomed park setting to walk along the crashing waves in the area.\n\nWe didn't see any priests as the tide was in and it was raining. Many offerings were around possibly related to Nyepi festivities while we were there.\n\nWe were able to stop at a Copi Luac tasting 'farm' near Tanah Lot that was also very good (12 samples of various flavored tea/coffee + Civet Cats + gift shop/coffee to buy).\n\nIt seemed to take a long time to get anywhere by car on this island. Traffic to and from Tanah Lot can be crushing as people try to be there for sunset.
(7) When you come to Bali you must visit Tanah Lot Temple.\nwunderful location and a great place of spirit.
(8) Tanah lot is the most famous temple in bali,so when we go there its so crowded, better if you go in the sunset time or in the morning
(9) Tanah Lot is a must see if you are in Bali. Great for some spiritual upliftment. It is a bit dirty though but the best shopping in Bali for clothes and souvenirs. It is by far the cheapest. When I enquired as to why this is so it is because all the goods come from here apparently. I bought clothes, art, musical instruments and souvenirs and all of it was cheaper than the Kuta prices. It is really hot at Tanah Lot so dress appropriately. \n\nThere is a money changer on site.
(10) Tanah Lot is one of the four temples protecting Bali and is quite beautiful. You can view it, and the ocean, from a short distance but dont expect to enter it. It is very picturesque and you can sit in an outdoor cafe and listen to the waves. But it can be very crowded and there are many vendors hawking their wares.
(11) The Tanah Lot Park is quite big and you need to walk for a while until you arrive at the Tanah Lot Temple itself. I suggest you visit the place during low tide as you'll be able to wade through the low waters towards the foot of the temple itself and get excellent photos. But then again, you could have amazing photos if you're still above the cliff of the park, especially during sunset. I highly recommend you bring water as well.
(12) This is the #1 place to visit when one is in Bali is totally correct. The temple sits on a rock structure just off the coast. When the tide is high it is unreachable, but low tide allows you to walk around the base. The real highlight is the magnificent views afforded at sunset. It's also the most busy time but well worth going and getting there early enough to claim a good viewing spot. Waiting for the beautiful sunsets, you can watch the surfers plying the large waves. If you visit Bali and don't see Tanah Lot at sunset, you haven't been to Bali.
(13) Tanah lot is a must-see temple in Bali itinerary. Ideally people visit the temple in the evening to catch sunset. But irrespective of the weather and sun conditions, the temple looks majestic sitting atop a black rock cliff with sea waves crashing the shoreline.
(14) Visited Tanah Lot for sunset, the views were really nice. The temple is at three points and all of which are on the cliff or waters edge. Place was very busy which was a bit off putting, still worth a visit
(15) I went here in August, and there were A LOT of people there. Some times difficult to make your way around because of the amount of people just standing around, More selfie sticks than i could count! \n\nBesides the MASS amount of people, it was a absolutely beautiful place. The landscape is gorgeous and the temple itself perched out on the ocean is somthing ill never forget! Even though here there lots of people, i'm glad that i booked the tour to go here. I booked a private tour, so my guide took me there and waited while i walked around. \n\nThere is a lot of market stall all around Tanah Lot, which sell Tanah lot related items as well as the generic Bali stuff and clothes and trinkets. \n\nOverall great experience, would definitely recommend going!
(16) Tanah Lot is a worth place to visit, the entrance fee is cheap..the view is excellence.. although it's 1 half hour drive from Kuta to reach this magnificent temple but it's still worth..
(17) Tanah Lot offered a rich experience into Balinese culture and traditions. The facilities were quite clean and markets were great. Amazing places for photos.
(18) one of the places with the highest click-click-click-rate in the world ... thousands of daily visitors pointing their lenses on this marvellous temple, built on a rock, on high tide surrounded by the waves of the Indian Ocean. the parking lot is huge, the number of busses hard to estimate, but the crowd which passes through a cordon of souvenir chops and food stalls is huge. So if you don't like crowded places or are a bit claustrophobic - go somewhere else, buy a postcard of Tanah Lot and enjoy it's beauty.\nFor all those who still want to get an impression and need a selfie in front of the temple, to prove they've been on Bali: come early before sunset, 3pm is a good time. Visit the temple rock or the snake cave, enjoy the cool breeze and the waves. Then move up to some of the many restaurants upstairs, find a nice place close to the cliff opposite of the temple, enjoy a drink and wait for the sunset. It can be absolutely stunning to watch the sky turn red/yellow/pink ... spectacular !
(19) Whilst a long way up the coast, I ventured this tour with my Partner on a motor Scooter and stopped at all the beaches on the way. This added to the Beauty of the Day as the Local Farmers were Harvesting Rice etc. Tana Lot Temple is a special Village with food & even a Gloria Jeans for the Coffee Addict. The walk across to the Temple at LOW TIED is not hard but has a small cave under it which is very exciting. The view of the coastline is nice and the adjoining Temple on the Finger points compliment this site.
(20) Tanah Lot is very scenic. And crowded. And hard to reach. And full of touts. But the scenery makes up for that, I suppose... It's nice to see depending on the tide.
(21) Tanah Lot has a temple on a rock, just at the edge of the sea. There is a nice elevated walkway all up to the temple. Evenings are nice with visitors all over the globe descending on this place. Worth taking a Polaroid shot against the backdrop of the temple which comes just at IDR 20,000 . You would also get a great view of the sunset here. Entry was not allowed up to the temple but a priest was offering blessings at the base of the rock - and of course, suggesting gratuities! :)) There is a nice spring in there too where you could drink some water & wash your face. Venomous snakes are said to guard the temple though we didn't see any - except for one being fondled a toddler whose father was trying to make money through this bizarre \attraction\". We also witnessed a nice temple ritual attended by locals at a separate temple away from the rock temple and close to the shopping area. The handicrafts available at the shops here were very reasonably priced though I'm not sure about the quality. This is certainly a spot worth visiting in Bali."
(22) Tanah Lot Temple is old beautiful stone carving rock temple on ocean. Watching beautiful sunset on the wide ocean is very interesting.
(23) Visiting Tanah Lot is absolutely not a must to do in Bali !!\nThis temple is expensive (60 000 entrance + 2 000 parking) and it is just really small and not as nice as all other temple on the island !\nBear in mind that you cannot visit the temple, you pay to go around the temple. Don't expect a huge and extremelly beautiful place, it's just a small \basic\" temple on a rock few meters from the shore.\n\nYou can really visit much better temple in Bali for free or 10 times cheaper than Tanah Lot."
(24) Tanah Lot Temple in Bali is a popular tourist attraction for good reasons. The ancient temple on the rocks on the beach is unique. Make the effort to view the temple closer than just from a distance. Crowds always makes it difficult to enjoy it properly but it's still worth the trip.
(25) Tanah Lot is a beautiful temple that is inaccessible when the tide is high. It appears as if it is in the ocean. The sand here is black, and the water is warm. but the view is magnificent!
(26) We stayed in jimbaran and the trip to tanah lot took about 2 and a half hours but the temple and the suroundings makes the \neffort to get there almost pleasant\nIt s a must see if you planned a trip in bali\nThank Kadek and Putu (our drivers and friends now)
(27) Yep, we skipped the madness of an over-crowded Tanah Lot Sunset and did the early shift leaving Kuta around 7:30am. Half the battle is getting anywhere in Bali and we still encountered traffic but was up there within about 40 minutes and practically first through the gates. I think it was about R30,000 each so $7.50 NZ total so very reasonably priced. The tide was high and surf huge but as you are not allowed access to the temple (which sits on an island 50m off the coast) anyway it was largely irrelevant. Had a wander around and Got the obligatory photos and it is a nice clean monkey-free environment. The other tourists and tour buses started piling in around 9 so it was nice to have it to ourselves for a short while and in the cool. Ticked it off the list but we wont return despite having a successful 1/2 days outing. It was good to get back to Niksoma and poolside.
(28) We enjoyed our visit to Tanah Lot. We found the views of the coastline more beautiful than the temple views itself. There is not much of the main temple you can see from the angle of the viewing deck. If you walk across to it you are also not allowed access to the top.\n\nWe were advised to go at sunset and thought that we would be able to capture the temple and the sunset in single shot which we could not from the viewpoints at the site.\n\nYou are then stuck in bad traffic on the way back as everyone leaves post the sunset and there is a single road back.\n\nI would advise people to visit at other times to avoid the traffic. We had plenty opportunities to get great sunset pics over the bali coastline at many other locations.
(29) Tanah Lot Temple is a magical place. Set on a rock surrounded by sea, with waves crashing over the rocks. A place to clear your mind and meditate perhaps? Except for all the tourists! \nIt is a good place to watch the sunset, but you need to be to the east of the temple to see the sun setting behind it. That will depend on the tide, as the beach could be cut off and inaccessible. Wear footwear that can go in the sea. If the beach is not accessible, then sit at one of the many bars that line the cliff tops.\nI would recommend going early in the day to avoid the sunset crowds.
(30) Tanah Lot is beautiful. The water temple, and all the other temples around, will not disappoint you. We visited when there was low tide. So we could walk to the temple, but not on it. You have beautiful views from the beach on the left of it. You can also receive sacred water, rice and a flower as part of a tradition (?). However, you are expected to pay for it, just like everything else. The surround is very commercial, with a lot of shops and cafes. The entrance is also relatively expensive with IDR 60.000 per person, and IDR 5.000 for parking. But you will see many temples. Be aware that there will be many many tourists. We went early in the morning, and it was okay. After a while, however, it was simply too much. So we would never go there for the sunset, simply because it will be too busy. \nTIP for transportation: Take a Blue Bird taxi, and let him wait for you in the parking lot. You will pay for it, but you can be sure to get a ride home without any problems.
(31) Our wonderful driver Wayan Wijana dropped us off at the arrival square where we jostled our way through the crowded market place down to the water. It's a very beautiful and sacred place but you can't go over onto the temple island it's blocked off. You can wade through the water to the foot of the rock and have a wander but if you are not very sure footed the ground is very slippery, rocky and muddy. The drive out to Tanah lot is lovely if you don't get bad traffic. Go early in the morning! Yes the sunset is amazing but the traffic is terrible.
(32) The view of the temple is great. Much better than Tanah Lot temple in term of scenic view. If you have limited time and this is the temple you should visit.
(33) Tanah Lot is another area that features high on most tourists must-see list of places when in Bali. My last visit here was ten years ago, and the place today is now terrifically developed, and to reach the temple itself, you have to walk along a newly well-paved road that is lined with dozens of shops selling souvenirs, paintings, clothing, jewellery, tourist junk, food and beverages of all kinds etc. Within the compound, there were also numerous local photographers carrying Canon DSLRs with standard kit lenses and a huge messenger bag containing the Canon Selphy Printer offering instant print-outs to visitors whore fine paying the exorbitant prices to have your scenic pictures taken.\n\nThe temple that sits on top of the rock formation remains beautiful, and there was a religious event going on the afternoon we visited but really, if crowds is not your thing, either find a time to visit when no one else is around, or just skip it and buy a pretty postcard of the temple at the Bali airport on your way home instead.
(34) Tannah Lot Temple complex is a must visit for any traveller as well as local to Bali. Temple is not only beautifully situated at a Arica on the edge on the sea but is also supposed be be very sacred by locals also the sea and very clean n beautiful. The best time to visit is sunset once the sunset is close the place turns just out of worldly stunning so beautiful colours in sky and sea with the rock n temple on the edge of sea is visually just stunning . Also on the way towards main temple there are a couple of small temples and shops selling tourist stuff but individually selling small pencils n plastic pins are very friendly n polite buy from them. plus there are many selfie and picture taking points for best of views . I must mention that govt staff that maintains the place are very helpful. I saw a lady fall and have a small cut on knees once the young officer was contacted he came immediately came gave quick first aid with smile And also refused to take money saying it was their duty which was truely humbling and hats off thing . On the whole don't miss it as it is one of the most beautiful location on earth 🌏
(35) When in Bali, Tanah Lot is a must-see place to go. The views are spectacular plus you get a real feeling of spirituality while there. It is, after all, a temple. \nAlso, the shopping is cheaper than Kuta and you don't get the in-your-face harassment of the sellers like in Kuta. Lots of delicious food and very cheap prices. Highly recommended place to go and spend a couple of hours. You can even get your photo taken with a very large python if you want.
(36) Trust me when I say it is just like a dream. It is seriously epic destination for any traveler. It is mesmerizing. Sea, nature and Sunset....best I would say. We spent a considerable time at Tanha lot, we saw Sun,Rain ,dusk all. We had an awesome Sunset meal overlooking the ocean.
(37) Look is very nice bali temple in the ocean tanah lot the best one place for you to visite becouse when you come to tanah lot temple you can see about thre more temple aside from point of tanahlot temple .
(38) Having been to Bali many times and seen Tanah Lot only from afar we decided to head out there\nWe arrived around 10am and there were people arriving and leaving but I think this is a good time to go as at midday it was far to busy\nThe place is very well organised and the temple is truly beautiful and has a sense of serenity\nYou can go up to the temple but be prepared to queue\nThere are other vantage spots around to see the temple in all its wonder\nThe tide was out so we wandered all around\nThe waves were far out but with 40 minutes the tide began to come in\nThe ground is very uneven so if you are a little wobbly on your feet or have young children just be aware\nThere are also lots of steps to conquer but it truly is worth the effort\nWe have more visitors in November so we will certainly be heading back
(39) Of all the really interesting things you can visit on Bali, Tanah Lot is really only worth it if you're near it. There a lot of tourist shops and crap food and the temple itself is located on an island out at sea that you can't visit.
(40) Really nice tourism spot that should be in everyone list that come visiting Bali.\nAs far you could see you will see such a beautiful nature hill with free ocean calmly waves beneath it, it's just beautiful scenery that I really love.\n\nThere is also snake that you could see under the cave but no worry this snake are regarded as sacred animal so there is a safety guide that make sure it's all good condition.\n\nYou could have the fine restaurant up the hill of Tanah Lot and it will mark such a beautiful memory once you visit it.
(41) There's actually 2 Temples. When facing the sea, Pura Batu Bolong is the smaller temple on the right and Pura Tanah Lot is the bigger Temple on the right. Both do not allow visitors to enter. But wonderful place to watch the sunset. Be there before 5.30pm.
(42) Our family got lucky and visited during Low Tide. We were able to capture amazing images on our walk-up & wading out to Tanah Lot Temple itself. What an amazing experience to look out & see how nature and man's vision combined to form this landmark. Would like to take more time but the tide was on its way in ... Make sure you take photos from the first temple on your right as you enter as it provides perfect views of Tanah Lot, the swell and the beach. Don't miss this on your trip !
(43) We went to Tanah Lot on our second day in Bali went by scooter from Legian, a rather pleasant drive.\n\nI knew it would be very touristic however touristic places are sought by tourists because they are actually very nice. So if you strip away the crows and ignore the sellers and over development everywhere around the place, you can actually connect to the place.\n\nThe kids enjoyed the walk on the rocks with crabs and all sorts of small lizards in the small water basins. Then seeing and touching the holy snake for which you need to make a small donation to get to see close/touch. Then the walk a bit south of the temple where it was no longer so crowded.\n\nWe also did a photo with a large snake I think it was a boa constrictor. Impressive strength, I could feel all the muscles and got a bit of panic the one coming from within, even if you know you should be fine with alll the people around when the snake was moving around me and I could barely hold him with both hands.\n\nAll in all it was exactly as I had previously read in a review great for the kids due to the walk on the rocks and the scenery. And the drive there was an adventure on its own.
(44) must visit this place, when the water sea is down you can walk through the bottom of sea and there are many mini creature like fish, seaweed and crab, tanah lot temple have a cave which holy snake stay here all the time, i climb on the top but not on the temple because its not allowed to go in, u can enjoy the sea wind , its romantic place when go with couple.\nmy tips go when the water sea level is down around 10 am - 3 pm\nu can shopping at the market, there are many clothes and other and u can bargain the price, dont shy for the bargain ya.
(45) We had visited this place in the last week of Aug-2018. There are two Hindu temples. One is located on the cliff and another one (Tanah lot) in the bank of the sea. Both has very wonderful view during sunset.\n\nThe entry fee is a bit expensive compare to other other attractions in Bali. It was IDR 60,000 per person.
(46) Tanah lot temples are well located at the beach. Nice surroundings and views! The main temple isn't really big, just nice to make a picture with and that's it. I enjoyed the views more than the temple. After a hour we left, isn't much to see!
(47) Set on the west coast of the island, Tanah Lot is an interesting place to visit if you're into temples. It also helps if you're into large crowds, being pushed into and people trying to sell you things. To be fair, the 30 seconds of view that I did get before being barged out of the way by an ignorant selfie-taking mouth-breather was stunning. I'd recommend coming here on a day when fewer people are around or if you're feeling patient. The highlight for me was having a guy ask me if I wanted a tattoo - yeah cheers mate, a perfect pairing... Always need a tattoo if I've just visited a temple... Oh, and they charge you to use the toilets here...
(48) This Tanah Lot temple is situated in the middle of the water. Very beautiful place. When I saw this, I am very suprising because the water is also clean, cool, beautiful. When I went it in Summer the water is low and I need to walk to this temple. I think the visitor shouldn't miss this wonderful place. But the visitor can't visit inside only the balinese. The view from and to this temple is very nice. Unter this temple there is one balinese man to pray for us and I went to him and he sticked rice on my forehead and neck. It is balinese tradition. Around the temple there is a lot of photo views and souvenir shops. HOW WONDER IS IT? I LOVE IT VERY MUCH.
(49) Definitely a beautiful place, especially in the setting sunlight. The mad clamour for photography is annoying. So stay away from the sunset view pad, instead head for the Tanah lot cafe which is further up. The view of the temple is as good as any, especially with a cup of hot coffee. Plan your visit during low tide timings if you want to walk up to the temple
(50) Ive been to Tanah Lot four times over the last 40 years and I was really disappointed to see how commercial this very spiritual place has become. There were at least 200 market stalls, and hordes of tourists (ourselves of course included). It is still a beautiful place, just not what it once was. Worthwhile if you have never been, but if you have keep your previous memory safe and unspoiled.
(51) Not much to say about Tanah Lot. While the temple is beautiful (and inaccessible) and scenic at sunset, you are surrounded by huge crowds, hawkers galore, and every other local looking for ways to get money off you. I couldn't wait to leave, frankly, but I guess it's one of those \you just have to see it!\" places while you're in Bali. Got plenty of great photos at least, and some of the restaurants atop the cliff are good places to watch the sun set behind the temple."
(52) This place is a compound for visiting several temples or chandi. The Tanah Lot Temple is a temple for the God of the Sea and if one goes to worship one must be blessed by holy water by a priest and then one can climb the stairs to worship in the temple. What makes this really appealing is that it is made of natural rock and one can see high waves crashing to the shore. During high tide no one is encouraged to visit there as water surrounds the temple making it an island or sorts. The other attractions in this compound is the Batu Bolong a stunning natural rock formation and a temple on the top which access is closed so one can just see the stunning sunset views from this temple. A must see in Bali.
(53) It was nice to come and see the Tanah Lot Temple, We went in the middle of the day to avoid the influx of tourists. Is was still fairly busy though. There is a lot of shops and stall leading up to the entrance of Tanah Lot. The temple itself you could not really access on top of the hill. We went to the bottom, washed with the \Holy Water\" coming out of the rock, and were blessed, and mad donation to do so You could walk a little bit up one side, but we were unable to go right up to the very top. The view back to the temple was really good from some of the rocks and higher vantage points on the hill nearby. Worth the trip, it was nice."
(54) If it was the temple on its own, maybe placed somewhere in the middle of the island, the review wouldn't be as great and in fact, you'd hardly see any reviews of the temple on Tripadvisor at all. But what makes this a great place to visit is the combination of this temple with its surroundings! When you first come from the parking lot, you first arrive at the sea side and see another temple on a \rock peninsula\", to your right. That view is already awesome but unfortunately you currently can't go to visit the rock and temple because it was shut a few months ago when 2 tourists fell off the cliff there while doing selfies, and died. Anyway, it doesn't take away from the beauty of this sight. So we then decided to turn left to what is the actual Tanah Lot temple and it is beautifully placed on a rock inside the sea, which becomes an island during high tide while you can actually walk to the temple during low tide. It's a very nice setting for beautiful pictures and it gets even better during sunset (from what I've seen on the net). Unfortunately nature didn't treat us well the night we visited and the sunset was more or less killed off by the clouds, something which is very unusual in Bali at this time of year according to our tour guide. But we still loved the place and would put it on our Top 3 \"must see sites\" in Bali, together with the Sacred Monkey Forest and the Tirta Empul water temple. As most other sites, the entry fee is very reasonable, at IDR 30000. Actually most sites charge entrance between IDR 20k to 30k."
(55) What a beautiful temple and location! Lots of tourists around, markets etc also, balloons for the kids also available. \nWe were at Tanah Lot during a 3 day special time which occurs every 6 weeks, was brilliant to see.
(56) Beautiful scenery and temples. There are five temples here, tanah lot is one of the five. Bring your camera to capture the view here. We came here there were local praying and we were not allowed to enter the temple. Not too sure during normal days can enter or not.\n\nSunset at 6.30pm, we didnt wait for the sunset.
(57) Bali is well known for its rice paddies, beaches, coral reefs and the volcanic mountains. For me even more important thing is the culture that they preserved since a thousand years. Temples are existed within the premises of almost all the houses. Praying uniforms are compulsory for all the rituals. Traditional dances are performed in Schools, Hotels & in their Community Centers in every Thursday. Tanah Lot Temple is also equally interesting to visit; traditional rituals also used to take there in almost all the days. Balinese are very rich in their culture.
(58) This is the second time we have visited Tanah lot temple. The first time was many years ago and enjoyed a magnificent sunset overlooking the temple. This time we did a day trip to hopefully avoid the traffic. Unfortunately the traffic is bad at all times now and it was a long trip from Kuta to get there. I would suggest allowing 3 hours to get there if you were wanting to see the sunset now. The temple and surrounding areas are beautiful, unfortunately the toilet facilities are poor so take some tissues if you want to avoid the ladle. The tide was low when we were there so you were able to walk over to the temple and experience the holy water. It cost appx 15 Australian dollars for the two of us to enter the grounds which is payable when driving in. We enjoyed a quiet lunch time drink at one of the many restaurants overlooking the temple and then sauntered through the markets that you walk through on your way to the temple. It is a must see on your trip to Bali a truly remarkable place.
(59) After a long drive through the narrow roads of Canggu we arrived at Tannah Lot, to find the car park full of full sized tourist buses! After paying a small fee to get in, we went through the markets down towards the temple itself. To get there at the bottom there were quite a few stairs. and the whole placed was rammed with people. We didnt go to the temple at the beach level because there were thousands of people lining up. It was a stunning location especially at sunset, but just a little bit tooo busy!
(60) The Tanah Lot Temple is a worth, about 30-40 minutes via taxi from Seminyak. We couldnt see the temple, as the high tide was present in the evening. \n\nIt is crowded during the evenings with shops and many tourists around. Nice picturesque view of the temple, sea etc. \n\nAs it attracts lot of people and stand hot during the day due to sea sore and rocks, better plan to visit during the early part of the day. \n\nIt's a good place and certainly worth a visit.
